🇦🇪 OUR UAE GOLDEN VISA
… AND WHY IT MEANS SO MUCH TO OUR FAMILY. 💚

Dubai has been our home for almost 30 years … and now we have the privilege of knowing it can remain home for many more.

There are some things that mean far more than the document you hold in your hand.
Receiving our UAE Golden Visas is one of them.

When we first came to Dubai, we could never have imagined the life we would build here.

This is where we built our life and found our purpose.
Where our children were born and grew up.
Where our family found its community.
And where something that began simply as a dad wanting to include his son in sport grew into Team AngelWolf … and a much bigger mission around inclusion, community and belonging, eventually becoming a licensed non-profit foundation with Dubai Community Development Authority.

So for Nick to receive his Golden Visa through Dubai Sports Council, in recognition of his contribution through sport, means an enormous amount to us.

Sport has given our family so much more than races and finish lines.
It has given Rio opportunities to participate and belong.
It has connected us with people from every corner of this community.
It has allowed us to help others feel, see and experience true community inclusion … and to help shape mindsets and create positive change.
And it has shown us, again and again, what can happen when we stop looking at why somebody can’t take part and start finding ways that they can.

And now, having also secured Golden Visas for Delphine, Tia and Rio, there is another feeling that is difficult to put into words:

Security.

The reassurance of knowing that the country Rio knows as home can continue to be his home.

We are incredibly grateful to Dubai Sports Council for supporting our Golden Visa journey, and to the UAE and Dubai for giving our family somewhere we have been able not simply to live … but to belong.

Almost 30 years ago, Dubai became our home.
We could never have imagined where that journey would take us.

🎧 INCLUSIVE IMPACTIVITY with SPIN MUSIC! 🐺🎶

Team AngelWolf is thrilled to announce a brand-new WolfPack Music collaboration with Spin Music … introducing: WolfPack DJ! 💥

We’ve teamed up with the amazing team at .ae - Spin Music is a DJ Academy offering accessible, engaging music sessions for children, youth, adults, and People of Determination.

Together, we’re launching a free community-inclusive DJ intro session - for people with and without disabilities to learn side by side, in inclusive teams of two.

A creative space where everyone starts as a beginner, supports one another, and lets music become a universal language of connection.

👥 This session is for everyone, whatever your ability!
It’s not about volunteering.
It’s not just about performance.
It’s about inclusion, creativity, and community … where differences are embraced, confidence is built, and friendships are formed through a shared connection and love for rhythm, mixing, and fun!

🌟 Behind Spin Music is Nadi - a very talented teacher and international DJ who began playing music after being diagnosed with a condition that causes central vision loss at age 12. Music became his way to cope, connect, and create - and now, he’s on a mission to spread that magic of music to all.

RIO’s MARATHON 42.195km .. IN 3hrs 11mins 🐺🇦🇪

The photos told the story.
But this is what it felt like. 💚

42.195km.
18 laps.
A 3hr 30min cut-off.
One racing chair.
One very happy Rio. 😂
And a WolfPack of runners who showed up and made the mission possible.

Runner after runner taking their turn.

One lap.
Several laps.
Whatever they could give.

Pushing together.
Encouraging each other.
Cheering each other on.

And somewhere in the middle of all of it was Rio …. absolutely LOVING being pushed at speed! 😂💚

3hrs 11mins 42secs.

But this was never really about the finishing time.

It was about what happens when people come together and make sure somebody else gets to be part of the experience too.

Nobody had to do 42.195km alone.

Everybody contributed something.

And together, the whole distance became possible.

Community. Teamwork. Inclusion. Belonging.

This is what we mean by Inclusive Impactivity.

Not just talking about inclusion.

Doing it. Together.

A huge THANK YOU again to every runner who became part of Rio’s WolfPack, everyone who cheered us on, and the Dubai Mallathon team, race organisers and volunteers for making this possible.

And judging by Rio’s face throughout the video…

he would quite happily do it all again tomorrow. 😂🐺💚

INCLUSIVE IMPACTIVITY at the Dubai Mallathon Marathon 🐺🇦🇪

The mission on Sunday:

Rio to complete the Dubai Mallathon marathon at Dubai Mall in under the 3hr 30min cut-off time.

42.195km. 18 laps of approx 2.4km.

This mission was always going to take a village.

The plan was simple: a team of fast runners taking turns to push Rio in his racing chair, relay-style.

Earlier in the week, we put out a call for runners to join us.

We had absolutely no idea how many people - if anyone - would turn up.

At 6am, Tia started the marathon pushing Rio … She had a back-up plan: if nobody came, she would do all 42km with him herself. 🫣
Very determined.
Not entirely realistic if we wanted to finish inside 3hrs 30mins. 😬😂

But we should have known better than to doubt it.
Because in Dubai, when you put out a call to the community, people show up.

As the morning progressed, runners arrived to take their turn in the relay.

One lap.
Several laps.
Whatever they could give.
And suddenly Rio had his village.
A WolfPack of fast runners, all working together towards one shared goal.

The mission was completed in 3hrs 11mins 42secs…

and Rio LOVED every speedy second. 😂💚

A huge THANK YOU to every runner who joined Rio’s team and gave their legs, energy and time to make this happen.

Thank you also to everyone who cheered the inclusive teamwork on, and to the Dubai Mallathon team, race organisers and volunteers for making the morning possible.

And thank you for these incredible photographs and for capturing so many special moments along the way. ✨

Yesterday we were at Dubai Mallathon in City Centre Mirdif where we were invited to walk alongside our Emirati Senior Citizens and People of Determination with Dubai Community Development Authority.

Walking with our elders - friends who now genuinely feel like extended family - is always one of the highlights of our week. 💚

Wonderful to see Byte Inclusive Affairs there, and a huge thank you to Ismail for rolling alongside us and taking turns pushing Rio.

Such a special morning, full of real community inclusion, connection and belonging on so many levels.

RIO’S STORY WAS HEARD. ❤️🇦🇪

A very proud moment for Rio… 🥹

Earlier this year, we shared Rio’s story with Erth Dubai - written by Delphine in the voice she believes Rio would use if he could tell his own story in words.

- A story about growing up in Dubai.
- About family.
- Community.
- Inclusion.
- Belonging.
- And a city that Rio has called home for all 23 years of his life.

We were incredibly proud when the story was shortlisted for the Best Dubai Resident Story category.

And then we received some unexpected news…
Rio’s story had been awarded SECOND PLACE. 🏆

Today, Rio finally got to unwrap his Erth Dubai Award … and we think his reaction says everything. ❤️

To the team, thank you for reading Rio’s story.

Thank you for listening differently.

Thank you for hearing the voice of a young man who does not communicate through spoken words.

And thank you for recognising his story with this very special honour.

For our family, that means far more than a trophy.

Rio was heard.
His experiences mattered.
His memories mattered.
His voice mattered.

We are incredibly grateful and very, very proud. 🇦🇪❤️

Inclusion began at home. ❤️

Before Team AngelWolf existed, there was Rio.
And then there was Tia Watson.

A little sister who grew up never really understanding why her brother should be excluded from anything simply because he experienced the world differently.
- She included him.
- Played with him.
- Challenged him.
- Protected him.
- Annoyed him. 😂
- Loved him.
- And expected him to be part of life.

In Rio's story, Delphine describes how Tia showed her brother what inclusion looks like when a sister simply refuses to leave her brother behind.

But theirs isn't a one-way relationship.

Rio has shaped Tia too.
- The athlete.
- The advocate.
- The caregiver.
- The young woman.
- They have grown up together - teaching one another in completely different ways.

Perhaps that's why we called this story:
AN ANGEL & A LITTLEWOLF.

Because long before inclusion became our mission…
it was simply how our children lived.
