University of Dubai kicked- off the Alumni-Student Mentoring Program for students for Spring 2025! The program officially launched on January 27, 2025. The program will run for months ahead, fostering meaningful connections, professional development, and knowledge exchange.

Attendees, including students, have gained insights into the program through a detailed presentation on ASMP, before being formally introduced to their mentors/mentees

Dr. Ali Al Jassim, Chairman of Society of Sustainability and Green Materials, SSGM, participated in the program as one of the key mentors to share and exchange his valued knowledge and experience, whereas, mentees had the opportunity to meet with and embark on their mentorship journey with him. His mentorship program for the students includes some of these items: shadowing student career journey to Improve their academic performance; improve relationships with family and friend; assist with career options; assist with seminars & conferences; assist with defining goals and achievements; assist with some activities that are needed; assist with resolving any problems during the academic journey; and contribution to the student overall progress.

The event concluded with networking, allowing participants to connect and set goals for the months ahead.

The Community Development Authority-CDA in Dubai-UAE has awarded Society of Sustainability and Green Materials (SSGM) the ''Platinum category'' award, on the evening of 9th December 2024. The ''Platinum category'' award, which exemplifies Society of Sustainability and Green Materials (SSGM) excels in service quality and integration of special group for its distinguished performance under the program, this attributes to all programs, projects that were successfully undertaken since the inception of the society in November 2022.

''Ethraa Empowerment Program'' for Non-Profit Organizations (NPOs), honours the most distinguished organization within the Community Development Authority-CDA framework. The program is in line with the objectives of Dubai Social Agenda 33.
One of the aims of the ETHRAA program is to honour organizations that have distinguished themselves among participants in providing innovative services to the communities that supports groups and individuals in need of support to achieve sustainable social development that strengthens the partnership between Community Development Authority-CDA and the NPOs.

Following the success of the first summit- Circular Cities Summit 1.0 held in Singapore. The Circular Cities Summit 2.0 was held in Dubai from September 11 to 12, 2024. Society of Sustainability and Green Materials-(SSGM) was the host of this event. The event brought together global leaders, innovators, and sustainability experts to discuss how circular economies can enhance urban sustainability., this event focused on strategies to reduce carbon footprints, manage waste, and address pressing environmental challenges like climate change, air pollution, and traffic congestion.
The theme of the Circular Cities Summit 2.0, was: "Circular Design and Planning Integration," represents a pivotal exploration of holistic urban development. This theme underscores the importance of seamlessly merging circular design principles with comprehensive planning strategies to create sustainable and resilient cities. Throughout the summit, attendees have gained insights into the key challenges, innovative solutions, and collaborative efforts required for effective circularity in urban environments. With a focus on early planning, interdisciplinary collaboration, regenerative design, and collective advocacy, the theme embodies the essence of sustainable urban development in the 21st century. The summit had an attendance of about 400 delegates.
Sustainable Brands Journal (SBJ), had interviewed the most influential figures in the field of sustainability, among them Dr Ail Al Jassim, Chairman of Society of Sustainability and Green Materials, SSGM. The interview conversations delved into topics such as recycling, waste management, circular design principles, and strategies to combat severe environmental challenges.

On October,23rd 2024 ,SSGM Has held its second Annual General Meeting(AGM #2) in the new inaugurated HQ office in Al Garhoud Business Centre- office M26.

During the AGM meeting, and part of its key agenda items, the chairman , Dr. Ali Al Jaseem has proudly spoken about the remarkable occasion that commemorates an important milestone the society has achieved, the inauguration of Society, SSGM, Al Garhoud office.

The meeting was attended by the SSGM Board Members -BODs, in person , as well as on- line , in addition of the attendance by members from the Community Development Authority-CDA.
