🐾 AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION 🐾

Meet Stevie Wonder💫

Stevie was dumped at one of our community feeding stations a few weeks ago.

It takes a special kind of person to dump a blind cat in an area they don’t know 💔 He’s only 7 months old so technically they’ve dumped a blind kitten 😭

Initially thought to have haws syndrome, we felt hopeful we could help him regain his eyesight. He had flu and we started him on antibiotics but sadly our vet confirmed it was not haws syndrome and was in fact likely he had no vision at all and this wasn’t likely to improve

Stevie has the sweetest nature. We decided to give him a chance but we know this won’t be an easy one and his options are limited. His eyes are not causing him any issues or discomfort and we think he might see shadows so removing his eyes at this point doesn’t seem like a risk we wish to take

He’s spent the last week with Cassandra from our team and she feels he would do best with another friendly cat in the home. We weren’t sure how this would go but he has met another friendly cat in her home and was excited by the prospect of a buddy

The sweetest boy who wants to cuddle 24/7 we need to try our best for him - his personality suggests he was a pet 💔

🧡 Stevie is estimated to be 7 months old
🧡 Male Arabian Mau
🧡 He will be neutered in the coming weeks
🧡 He will be fully vaccinated prior to adoption
🧡 Stevie has been dewormed and is a strictly indoor only cat
🧡 Other than his eyes looking strange he is a perfectly healthy cat!

🐱 Would suit a home with another (young) friendly cat
🐶 Not tested with dogs but would be fine with the correct introduction
🧒🏻 👧🏻 Stevie panics when he’s picked up so although he demands affection and cuddles he does not want to be lifted. He would be best suited to a home with older kids who understand this

✈️ We welcome international adoptions. We do ask an adoption fee of 250 GBP which goes towards the relocation cost. We are more than willing to fundraise for the right family and we take care of the relocation from our side

💌 If you’d like to enquire about adding Stevie to your family, please send us a DM !

The most gorgeous little girl who’s had the most horrendous year so far 💔

First reported to us in February, she was spotted with a serious tail injury. It took quite some time to catch her but Laura finally managed it and I don’t think any of us expected her to be the cuddle bug that she is.

She was first found to be living with her mama and siblings in a garden and the family very kindly assisted us in TVNMR-ing them. Over time they all dispersed and we don’t know how she managed this tail injury but we’ve sadly had a fair few of them over the years. Her recovery has not been smooth and we think she deserves a home of her own! No matter the pain and trauma she’s purred through it all!!

🧡Pumpkin is an Arabian Mau and just shy of 2 yrs old
🧡Spayed
🧡Fully vaccinated
🧡Microchipped
🧡Dewormed
🧡Clean bill of health 🥳

👧🏻 She’s fantastic with kids and wants to be a cuddle cat
🐶 Not tested with dogs but we believe she would be fine as long as introduced correctly
🐱 Not tested with cats. We think she deserves to be spoiled as a solo cat but with the correct introduction she could be fine with other kitties in the house

✈️ We welcome international adoptions. We do ask for an adoption fee of 250 GBP but we are more than happy to fundraise the remaining amount for the right family. We also take care of the relocation at every step.

What a boy. He’s already had dental a few years ago and now his mouth is in dire need of more work 💔

The good news is he has someone able to look out for him. The bad news is he may end up with no teeth at all.

The reality is we can’t just pull teeth and resolve the inflammation. It’s a much bigger job than that. But knowing someone is willing to look out for him buys him time. We may need to put him up for adoption though as being without teeth on the street is not ideal long term.

First things first - we need to get him pain free 💔. The downside of having such a (fairly) stable colony of cats is that they live longer to present us with lots of problems 🤪

We do love a challenge!

If you’d like to donate towards this boy, please contact British Vet Khalifa branch and donate towards the account

We have a long list of dental cases waiting in the wings so this boy has just been added to that…

Our beautiful bruiser of a boy had his eye surgery 🥳

He also had some dental while under anesthesia so he’s no doubt feeling like a new man!

Cahn is a gentle giant and deserves to be living pain free. He’s already got some admirers inside the community looking out for him and he’s only been dumped on us in recent weeks … he’s a heartbreaker for sure

For now, he’s inside recovering. Recovering from entropion surgery is no joke but he’s taking it in his stride! He’s chomping on 74 packets of wet food a day and generally loving being waited on hand and foot

This is what our donations are used for. We don’t just sterilize. We change their lives. We are so grateful for the support as we couldn’t do this alone

Thank you to everyone who donates towards what we do. Thanks to you this boy now has a chance at a pain free future 🙌🏼❤️

Jupiter💫

The simple answer from many will be “keep him”. But this is not realistic. We cannot keep every cat we come across who has a problem - there are hundreds of thousands of them.

So what do we do?

We have no foster homes and this boy would REALLY need to be in a long term foster while we fix his issues and wait (patiently) for the right home

Is it unethical for him to go outside and continue ripping his skin open? Yes.

But do we have a choice? We could put him to sleep but that seems extreme

If you’d like to offer a solution of a pet free foster home for this boy while we figure it out and find him a solution, please get in touch 🙏🏼

Stevie Wonder💫

To the person who dumped a blind cat inside our community, we hope you are having the day you deserve!

This poor baby boy was found scared and alone hiding in bushes beside a feeding station. Full of flu, unable to see, unable to smell where the food was … we had no choice but to take him inside

He’s only around 7 months old 💔

What do we do here? We have some perfectly healthy beautiful cats waiting to find their adoptive homes. Do we really stand a chance in finding someone to fall in love with him??

All he wants is cuddles ❤️‍🩹 He is so desperate for affection it’s so painful to see him isolated but essential to all new cases. He’s in a puppy cage as it’s all we can offer for now

He’s had ticks removed and started antibiotics for his flu. Now we wait and see if there’s ANY improvement in one of his eyes

Do we euthanase? Do we attempt to find him a home? What chance does this poor boy have really

For now we keep him content, taking meds and enjoying having a full belly. The rest we will decide as time goes on

If you’d like to donate towards this boy, please contact British Vet direct and donate to the Cats of Al Reef account referencing Stevie

Mochi🌈

This little girl was never on the cards for us. She turned up at the trap starving but weak and walking like she was on her last legs. But she wanted to eat SO bad 💔

So into the trap she went. She seemed to come alive and it gave us hope!

Sadly, she was breathing rapidly and taking shallow belly breaths. Dr Ahmad at Aleef asked if they could x ray - of course! But what we found was horrendous. She had old fractures. She was broken and impossible to repair 💔

Some decisions are simple but that doesn’t make them easy. Cases like these also drain our funds as well as our emotions but we have to believe we find them for a reason and that reason is to end suffering 🙏🏼

She was let go with a name and not left to suffer on the street. People had walked past and the most upsetting part was she was near a vet clinic and no one cared enough to take her.

She was not an Al Reef cat but we can’t walk past them when we see them suffering. If you would like to make a donation towards our accounts in her name, please contact Aleef Vet Clinic and donate towards the account

We are so very sad we couldn’t save her but so very glad she knows we tried

This little love has been on quite a journey. She was hilighted back in Feb / March as having a serious tail injury. Unfortunately she was not at all easy to catch but Laura managed it!

She has had surgery on her tail and is recovering well but we cannot imagine the pain she was in during her time with this injury. She managed to cope through the most horrendous storms while in agony 💔

She is the sweetest girl. She’s only 1-2 years old and once healed she will go back onto the street 💔 If you’d like to open your heart to her, please do reach out to us. Someone very generously helped to cover her surgical costs but if you would like to make a donation in her name to help other kitties like her, please do contact British Vet Khalifa City and donate towards

Cahn 💫

This poor guy has been found as a recent transplant into our community. We know people are dumping cases they can’t handle. We should be at least thankful he’s been neutered (according to the vet) in the last 3 months … that’s saved us less than 200 dirhams though 🫠

Cahn has been very lucky that he was spotted by some amazing community members. Yulia very kindly took him inside while waiting for his vet appointment and Christian has been looking after him as he’s turned up at his doorstep cat cafe!

Cahn has inverted eyelids and will require surgery to help alleviate the discomfort. Unfortunately he also needs dental and his quote is around 3.5k 🥴

We have no choice but to get him into surgery as quickly as possible as he is certainly suffering although he has THE MOST WONDERFUL TEMPERAMENT! 😍

We do love these big boys. They always look quite scary and mostly they’re just overgrown kittens ☺️

If you would like to donate towards Cahn and what he needs, please contact British Vet Khalifa City branch and donate towards the account using his name as reference 🙏🏼

Meet Freddie💫

You may remember this girl from New Years when she turned up with a broken leg. We documented it all on our stories so if you’ve followed her - she’s still here and looking for a FURever family to call her own!

Freddie was dumped at a feeding station with her mama and siblings back in summer last year. She’s barely a year old and has been through so much. She was spayed around Halloween so they were all named after spooky characters - don’t hold that against her 🥴

The original plan was for her to return to her family in the park after her leg healed (they are a gorgeous little bunch and the girls + mama have remained super close) but due to various complications with her surgery it was decided she had to be an adoption case

Now we know she’s not the most photogenic but truly she is a gorgeous little cat 😍

📆 Barely a year old
🐱 Freddie is a tabby domestic longhair mix. She has a little Arabian Mau in her mixed with a domestic long hair. The most beautiful coat with a little spice in her personality 🤪
✅ Female + spayed
✅ Fully vaccinated
✅ Microchipped
✅ Clean bill of health

👧🏻 Freddie hasn’t been around kids but we suspect she would be fine with respectful children who give her time to adjust
🐶 No issue with dogs but correct introduction essential
🐱 We believe Freddie would do well in a home with another friendly cat or 2

✈️ Freddie’s passport is ready and we welcome international adoptions. We do ask for an adoption fee of 250 GBP but we are more than willing to fundraise the remaining cost for the right family

💌 If you would like to enquire about adding this gorgeous girl to your family, please do get in touch!

🐾 ADOPTION ANNOUNCEMENT 🐾

Our little dumped hammy has been adopted by Tiffany and family and she is now called April💫

April was dumped inside our community earlier this week inside the tiniest of cages. To be dumped like that is bad enough but she was also dumped in the middle of the day 💔 There is no excuse for this level of cruelty!

Luckily her life is on the up and she’s in far better hands now …

We couldn’t have wished for a better outcome as her new family are SUPER experienced with small pets and loved her before even meeting her🙏🏼

She is just the cutest little thing (and a fairly easy house guest) but now in a far safer home without cats - who’ve been eyeing her up for dinner 👀

Huge thanks to as her adopted found us through their Facebook group!

Looking forward to all the April updates and wishing her a happy life ahead 💕
