Our new album Beyonder, which is out in September, is full of sounds of the natural world, and the ocean plays a special role in that. If you came to our Royal Albert Hall show in March, the soundscapes we used there included the songs of humpback whales, a person diving underwater, and sounds of a storm at sea. We have populated our songs over the years with sea birds and crashing waves, and it's a habitat that has really fed so much of what we’ve done we've done lyrically and musically. So the ocean is something we really care about.
That’s why we’re so excited to announce that we are founding ambassadors of Ocean Rising.
Ocean Rising is a global initiative that brings the ocean into the heart of contemporary culture across art, music, fashion, sport and beyond. They work with artists, brands and institutions to share ocean stories in unexpected places, from galleries and festivals to city streets, reaching people who might not usually stop to think about the sea. Their aim is simple: to help shift how the ocean is seen, not as something distant, but as a vital, living force that shapes our climate, our histories and our future. They believe people protect what they love, and that connecting more people to the ocean is a powerful place to start.
