Augies Doggies Rescue UAE Animal Rescue/ Adoption organization promoting Humane Education, training shelter dogs for animal assisted therapy programs, 2015 Unite4Humanity.

In 2002, at the age of 12, I started my own nonprofit dog rescue organization called Augie’s Doggies Rescue as an effort to save the lives of shelter dogs that would otherwise be put to sleep in shelters across the United States. I spent 12 years (half my life) running Augie’s Doggies Rescue, and to date have rescued, rehabilitated, and found homes for 130 dogs in need. My mission continues in the

Middle East as I work to establish a Humane Education Program that inspires children to make a difference in the lives of homeless pets while training shelter dogs for the use of Animal Assisted Therapy. I realized at a young age that kindness is a composite quality, in which love, understanding, foresight, empathy, and selflessness can all mingle. Departing from traditional methods responding to animal welfare, this project emphasizes the fostering of a Cultural understanding, which engages with the public in a way that is nourishing, for both humans and animals. The fate of the UAE’s homeless pet population is dependent on addressing the root of the problem, both internally and externally. Through awareness and education, the implementation of animal welfare concepts make it possible to form and sustain loving and harmonious relationships between people and their pets. This invites a culture of compassion, animal welfare, health, and education to play together rather than to work apart. Among the Humane Education project that I have drafted specifically for the UAE offers several components which include:
• an Animal Assisted Therapy program/ public campaign promoting the health benefits from owning a pet. This involves training rescued Salukis and other adoptable shelter dogs as therapy dogs, demonstrating the remarkable characteristics of the breed outside of their use for sporting purposes
• a “Jog a Dog” program that encourages residents to get active, while giving homeless dogs in Abu Dhabi a chance for socialization and a break from time spent in a kennel.
• An array of public events focused on raising awareness about homeless pets in the UAE, Pet adoption, and animal welfare, and the timeless lesson of kindness and compassion, for both people and animals.

Urgently needed:

Gorgeous mother and her three pups are looking for a foster or forever home.

They were rescued from the desert a few weeks ago and were taken to the vet for a full check-up where the vet said they were perfectly healthy. The mother has the sweetest demeanor and is very caring of her puppies. She is low maintenance and loves belly rubs. The puppies were a little scared and timid, but have started to open up and show their playful personalities. They are all doing well on the leash and are friendly towards other dogs and humans they meet on their walks.

The mother and her puppies have discovered human touch and the comfort of a home for the first time and we are excited to find them a place they can call home even if it’s temporary until they find a forever home. Please let us know if you or anyone you know would be interested in giving them a proper loving life or if you’d like to come meet any or all of them in Abu Dhabi or Dubai. We can also send more pictures upon request.

They are a mixed breed but will probably be large when full grown. The mom is 1.5 years old and her puppies are 3 months old.

Pups and momma are up to date on all vaccines and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption.

UAE friends...Meet Waffles :)

The New Year means it's the perfect time for second chances and new beginnings, and that's just what this lil guy needs!

Waffles is a 7 month old neutered saluki/shepherd mix looking for a . He's a very
sweet, cuddly, and affectionate boy. He is trained and obeys well to
commands. He has the cutest ears, the most heartwarming smile, and
gives the best doggie high fives. He's easy to handle and does well
off the leash. He is looking for a family committed to giving him a

Hi there! My name is Nala and I am a cute female 5 month old Saluki mix up for adoption at Abu Doggies. My foster family says I am the most cuddly puppy you'll ever meet! My brothers and sisters all found wonderful homes, and now it's my turn to find humans that will spoil me and shower me with love.

I like to spend my time playing with toys, going on walks, getting belly rubs, hanging out with other cool pups, and making new friends.

It's too hot outside in the desert, so I must be kept indoors. I would do just fine in a home with kids and other dogs. I just want someone to play and take naps with, and that would make me the world's happiest pup :)

I really can't think of anything else in the world that would make me happier than to get this special needs pup that I love with all my heart a flight to Heathrow so she can have her second chance at a brand new life.

Miracle #1 - April was shot 3 times and survived.
Miracle #2 - April is paralyzed in her back legs and gets around thanks to a custom wheelchair.. yet she is the happiest puppy you'll ever meet. When she couldn't play with other dogs, she became best friends with a turtle. When she saw tears in my eyes, she licked them off my face . Living proof that God spent a little more time on her beautiful soul, and some Angels choose fur instead of wings.
Miracle #3 - There's a real life guardian angel who lives in the UK who wants to adopt April and promises to spoil her and shower her with love each and every day.

Miracle #4 is a work in progress and I really am asking for your support.

April is living in small kennel right now in Abu Dhabi, and the only thing preventing her from living happily ever after in her new home is a one way airplane ticket to get her to her new mom.
Even the smallest donation would help get us one step closer to our goal. I ask that you please spread the word and share this with friends and family who might be able to help.
