Joint Delegation of YJSI and ISPWHR Embarks on Punjab Tour to Promote Human Rights and Press Freedom.

Lahore, Pakistan-:A high-level joint delegation of the Young Journalists Society International (YJSI) and the International Society for Peace Welfare and Human Rights (ISPWHR) Pakistan is currently on a mission to Punjab, Pakistan, to promote human rights and press freedom.

The delegation, led by Abdul Qadus Gill, Sajjad Hashmi, Rana Tahir, Rao Abrar, Rana Yousaf, and Ghani Chaudhry, is comprised of prominent human rights activists and senior journalists. The delegation's objective is to assess the human rights situation in Pakistan and amplify the voices of the press community facing challenges.

During their tour, the delegation is meeting with civil society, religious leaders, lawyers, and representatives of journalist organizations in various cities of Punjab. Key discussion points include press freedom, protection of journalists, human rights, and promoting interfaith harmony.

Abdul Qadus Gill and Sajjad Hashmi stated that a free press and fundamental human rights are the foundation of any democratic society, and their mission is to ensure the preservation of these values. Ghani Chaudhry added that the delegation aims to establish a network to respond promptly to human rights violations.

Upon completion of the tour, the delegation will formulate a comprehensive charter of demands to be submitted to relevant authorities and international organizations to improve human rights and press freedom in Pakistan.

انسانی حقوق اور تحفظِ صحافت کے لیے دو بڑی تنظیموں کے مشترکہ وفد کا دورہ پنجاب؛ مختلف مکاتب فکر سے ملاقاتیں جاری۔

لاہور/پنجاب () ینگ جرنلسٹس سوسائٹی انٹرنیشنل اور انٹرنیشنل سوسائٹی فار پیس ویلفیئر اینڈ ہیومن رائٹس پاکستان کا ایک اعلیٰ سطح کا مشترکہ وفد "انسانی حقوق اور تحفظِ صحافت مشن" کے تحت پنجاب کے مختلف اضلاع کے دورے پر ہے۔وفد کی قیادت عبدالقدوس گل، سجاد ہاشمی،رانا طاہر،راؤ ابرار،رانا یوسف سابق سپرینٹنڈنٹ رینجرز اور غنی چوہدری کر رہے ہیں، جن کے ہمراہ انسانی حقوق کے علمبردار اور سینئر صحافیوں کی ایک ٹیم بھی شامل ہے۔ اس دورے کا مقصد پاکستان میں انسانی حقوق کی صورتحال کا جائزہ لینا اور صحافتی برادری کو درپیش مسائل کے حل کے لیے آواز بلند کرنا ہے۔
وفد اپنے دورے کے دوران پنجاب کے مختلف شہروں میں سول سوسائٹی، مذہبی رہنماوں، وکلاء، اور صحافتی تنظیموں کے نمائندوں سے ملاقاتیں کر رہا ہے اور اہم نکات جیسے کہ صحافتی حقوق کا تحفظ،فیلڈ میں کام کرنے والے صحافیوں کو درپیش خطرات اور ان کے پیشہ ورانہ حقوق کی فراہمی،انسانی حقوق کی پاسداری،معاشرے کے پسے ہوئے طبقات کے حقوق اور بلا امتیاز انصاف کی فراہمی،بین المذاہب ہم آہنگی اور امن و امان کے قیام اور رواداری کے فروغ کے حوالے سے بات چیت کر رہا ہے،
اس موقع پر عبدالقدوس گل اور سجاد ہاشمی نے میڈیا سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ آزاد صحافت اور بنیادی انسانی حقوق کسی بھی جمہوری معاشرے کی بنیاد ہوتے ہیں۔ ہمارا مشن ان اقدار کی پاسداری کو یقینی بنانا ہے۔ غنی چوہدری نے مزید کہا کہ پنجاب کے تمام اضلاع میں سٹیک ہولڈرز سے ملاقاتوں کا مقصد ایک ایسا نیٹ ورک بنانا ہے جو بوقت ضرورت انسانی حقوق کی خلاف ورزیوں کے خلاف فوری ردعمل دے سکے۔
وفد اپنے دورے کے اختتام پر ایک تفصیلی چارٹر آف ڈیمانڈ مرتب کرے گا جسے متعلقہ سرکاری حکام اور بین الاقوامی اداروں کو ارسال کیا جائے گا تاکہ انسانی حقوق اور صحافتی آزادیوں کی صورتحال کو بہتر بنایا جا سکے۔
