Last weekend this happened!

One dive at a time, this time picking up a 10kg ghost net that was impacting the coral reef. We have to go back to get the rest of the net.

MENA OCEANS SUMMIT 2024

Under the patronage of the Ministry of Climate Change & Environment وزارة التغير المناخي والبيئة, Goumbook - Changing Mindsets is proud to launch the second edition of the MENA Oceans Summit, in partnership with High-Level Climate Champions, United Nations Headquarters Dubia , UAE., IUCN, G20 CORDAP (Coral Research & Research Development Accelerator Platform), Gulf Women in Environmental Sciences and the Emirates Diving Association (EDA), as an impactful way to drive collaborative action for and on the occasion of World Oceans Day.

Hosted on June 10th and 11th, MENA Oceans Summit 2024 will highlight regional perspectives and achievements in the lead up to UN Ocean Conference 2025 (UNOC25). Following last year's major success, the summit will bring together an inclusive stakeholder network under four key pillars: Blue Economy l Blue Governance l Blue Science l Blue Collective.

Join the EDA Reef Check course initiative in collaboration with Al Mahara Diving Center and Chloe Blue Scuba Diving.

The course will be run in Dubai on the 10-12 of May by Kathleen Russel from Al Mahara Diving Center at Chloe Blue at the Jebel Ali Resort.

Get your Reef Check Eco Diver certification by learning more about how to monitor and provide the valuable data needed on the health of our coral reefs.

The course is AED1,350 but EDA members will receive the offer for AED1,150. Register directly with Al Mahara Diving Center LLC, Abu Dhabi for their Reef Check United Arab Emirates course.
