Minister of Home Affairs presser on enhanced lockdown

~Reference is made to his Excellency President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa pronouncement on the level 4 lockdown on the 29th of June 2021 and subsequent gazetting of SI 187 0f 2021
~ Pursuant to the above and in response to the spike in cases and fatalities across the country amid a 3rd wave the security forces will ensure strict adherence to level 4 lockdown
~In line with World Health Organization (WHO) protocols all citizens are mandated to wear appropriate face masks in public places and strictly practice social distancing
~Failure to wear face mask is punishable offence
~In the month of June 2021 alone at total 51 018 people were arrested for the offence
~Given the threat caused by pandemic the security forces will ensure strict compliance to the above prevention and containment measures without fear or favour.
~For the avoidance of doubt the following measures will be enforced: a curfew running from 1830hrs t0 0600hrs
~The security forces urges the public and motorists to restrict movement and to adhere to curfew hours
~Business are to operate from 0800hrs - 1530hrs
Inter-city travel remains banned
The security forces will ensure that pirate taxis or Mshika-shika are decisively dealt with.
Beerhall, bars and night clubs remains closed

A nurse in California tested positive for COVID-19 more than a week after receiving Pfizer Inc's vaccine, an ABC News affiliate reported bit.ly/2L8iBel on Tuesday, but a medical expert and the U.S. drug maker said the body needs more time to build up protection.
