We join the global call for the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, a campaign that reminds us that safer, more dignified communities are created through collective effort.
In Mwenezi, Masvingo and Chiredzi Districts, we see every day how gender-based violence affects families, disrupts young people’s futures, and undermines community development. Ending violence is not simply a policy goal; it's a community responsibility. When women and girls feel safe, households thrive. When men and boys are engaged as family, the cycle of violence begins to break. When survivors are supported, healing becomes possible.
At MDTC, we believe violence prevention starts at the household level. While Awareness leads to dialogue, dialogue leads to action, and action leads to change. By educating communities, strengthening support systems, and challenging harmful norms, we are working towards a world where respect and safety become daily realities.
We encourage community leaders, parents, teachers, youth and community members to take a stand against gender based violence. Speak out. Support survivors. Create spaces where every person is valued and protected.
Ending GBV is possible, and it starts with all of us.
