Empowering the next generation to navigate and thrive safely in the digital world.

On 3 May 2026, MAYO hosted a Youth Digital Awareness Workshop at J Wallace College in Mabvuku, the workshop was facilitated by Tatenda Mauya, bringing together young people for important conversations around cyberbullying, misinformation, mental health, and responsible digital citizenship.

Rooted in the values of Ubuntu “I am because we are” the workshop equipped participants with practical tools to think critically, engage responsibly online, and support one another in creating safer digital spaces.

From identifying fake news and online scams to discussing mental well-being and positive online behaviour, the session sparked meaningful dialogue and strengthened participants’ confidence in navigating digital challenges.

This is how stronger and safer communities are built by empowering young people with knowledge, values, and voice.

Back in 2009, MAYO together with the Mutoko community organized our very first mixed-gender soccer tournament! The excitement, unity, and community spirit were unforgettable.

Through Sports for Social Development, we have continued using sport as a tool to empower young people, promote peace, encourage teamwork, and create opportunities for girls and boys in rural communities.

Sports should be for everyone. Breaking barriers and encouraging girls and young women to participate in all sporting disciplines is an important step toward gender equality and inclusion.

At MAYO, we remain committed to uplifting the lives of young women and men through sport and community engagement. ⚽✨

Speaking up is not weakness, it’s strength.
Your voice matters, your feelings matter, and your healing matters.

Let’s break the silence and create safe spaces where young people can talk, be heard, and be supported.

Art speaks where words fall short.
Through every brushstroke, we tell stories of pain, hope, resistance, and healing.

At the MAYO - Tamuka Exchange Program Day 2026 at Tamuka Foundation young people came together not just to talk, but to express, reflect, and heal through art.

Through the Creative Expression Workshop led by Ntandoyami Chic'cove Kanhenga , participants transformed emotions into powerful visuals, telling stories of mental health, resilience, drug awareness, and the realities young people face today. For many, the canvas became a safe space to say what words could not.

Each brushstroke carried meaning.
Each color reflected a lived experience.
Each artwork became a voice.

The session reminded us that art is more than creativity, it is healing, awareness, and advocacy.
