💧 This International Women’s Day, we celebrate the women who shape our world in countless ways.

Achieving SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation depends on inclusive governance and gender equality. Yet, women currently represent just over 20% of the global water workforce.

Bridging this gap is critical. From researchers and engineers to practitioners and policymakers, women bring essential perspectives that shape how water is understood and governed worldwide.

At the International Water Resources Association, we are proud to be part of a global community where women’s knowledge and experience are deeply integrated into the way we solve the world’s water crisis.

Today, on International Women’s Day, we recognise and celebrate women everywhere — in the water sector and beyond.

As we celebrate International Women’s Day on the 8th of March, under the international theme "Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL women and girls", we are inviting churches to take part in the Purple Sunday where church members wear anything purple as a symbol of justice and dignity.

This campaign encourages the church to advocate for a just, gender-equal world for all and to take practical actions in addressing sexual and gender-based violence.

- Stand against Gender Based Violence (GBV) and harmful practices, including child marriage, domestic abuse, and silence in the face of injustice.
- Promote positive masculinity, encouraging men and boys to act in Christ like love, humility, and responsibility.
- Celebrate the leadership, contributions, and resilience of women in our churches, communities, and families.
- Support access to services, healing, and safe spaces for survivors of abuse.

Wear purple as a symbol of justice, dignity, and hope.

Stop Digital Violence aganist women and girls!!!!

As we embark on the 16 days of activisim we celebrate International Day for the Elimination of all Violence Aganist Women.

Violence against women and girls remains one of the most prevalent and pervasive human rights violations in the world. Globally, almost one in three women have been subjected to physical and/or sexual intimate partner violence, non-partner sexual violence, or both, at least once in their life.
