Today we join the global Thursdays in Black movement, standing in solidarity against gender-based violence, r**e, and all forms of sexual harm.

The campaign began through ecumenical and grassroots justice movements as a simple but powerful act: wearing black on Thursdays to signal resistance to violence and support for survivors. Over time it has grown into a worldwide call for accountability, awareness, and safer communities for women and girls.

At Girls & Goals Zimbabwe, we believe safe spaces are essential for empowerment. Through sport, arts, culture, and community dialogue, we work to build confidence, amplify girls’ voices, and challenge harmful norms that enable violence.

Wearing black is a reminder that prevention is everyone’s responsibility. Together, we can create communities where girls grow, lead, and thrive free from violence.
