Empowering s*x workers in Kadoma with knowledge, tools, and voice.

Through this activity, ZIMSWA is building legal literacy and financial skills so s*x workers can understand their rights, respond to violations, and strengthen their economic resilience. By addressing stigma, violence, and limited access to justice, ZIMSWA is supporting community-led solutions for safety, dignity, and independence in Zimbabwe.

We are proud to see the successful implementation of the "Beyond the Red Umbrella" Project by and through the READY+ Academy Seed Grant initiative. 🌂

The project focused on supporting the children of s*x workers by creating safe spaces through wellness workshops, psychosocial support activities, and positive parenting sessions that strengthen families and promote children’s wellbeing.
This initiative highlights the importance of community-led solutions that address the needs of marginalized communities and ensure that children grow in safe, supportive, and empowering environments.

Marginalized communities, like s*x workers, are disproportionately affected by climate change. Despite facing criminalization and exclusion from social protection, they are often left out of climate response discussions.

The Zimbabwe S*x Workers Alliance (ZIMSWA) supported SWEAR ( S*x Workers Empowered Advocating for their Rights) in hosting a workshop on climate impacts, and exploring strategies to adapt and innovate.
