The Kiran Jack Floating Trophy Award was created to shine a light on unsung heroes in our community — those whose efforts may not always make the headlines, but whose impact is deeply felt by those around them.

Rule:
Nominees must not have been previously acknowledged by the prestigious Zimbabwe Community Trailblazers Awards or The Herald Community Heroes Awards. These are considered the highest levels of community recognition in our nation.

Kiran didn’t just leave a hole in our lives.

He left a legacy within them.
In the people he loved.
In the lives he quietly changed.

In the way strangers still speak about him with so much warmth.

Even now, we still hear new stories about his kindness, stories of him showing up without hesitation, helping without needing recognition, and changing lives in ways he probably never even realised.

That was Kiran.
Some people leave memories.
He left impact.

May we all strive to live a little more like that, not for praise or recognition, but simply to make someone else’s life lighter, safer, kinder, or better. 🤍

Hi Tara,
Sorry this is very late. Liane had mentioned you are doing the speech for Kiran’s award.
I know you’re probably done but I thought I’d send my 2 cents either way x

Kiran was a friend I knew that I could always rely on, he was someone that genuinely wanted to help anyone and everyone. There were nights we went out to have a break from everything and at the first call for help Kiran had disappeared and was already elbow deep in whatever needed to be done. He was a no questions asked, what do you need me to do, where do you need me to be kind of friend.
It takes a special kind of person to have a whole city feel their absence. Kiran is and will always be missed and unfortunately for those of us left behind has left a gap that not many could fill.
I lost a friend, but you lost a brother and I can’t come to even imagine the hurt you have felt but I hope you know that Kiran was truly loved and appreciated and his absence is always felt.

From a shy and timid child, Kiran grew into a powerful voice for justice. Kiran was a young man whose heart was deeply devoted to community service and helping others with compassion, courage, and purpose.

Nominations are now open for individuals who serve their communities with the same passion, compassion, and dedication that Kiran carried in his heart every day.

Wanting the well-being of humanity and committing to community work reflects a focus on something bigger than just individual success, it’s about shared dignity, support, and progress.

When people act on that intention, even in small ways, helping a neighbor, mentoring someone, volunteering, or supporting local initiatives it creates real ripple effects. Community work isn’t always dramatic or large-scale; often it’s consistent, grounded effort that quietly improves lives over time.

Kiran Jack was extremely passionate about this. ❤️🙏🏻
