The Global Shapers Community is a network of city-based Hubs developed and led by young leaders between 20 and 30 years old who want to develop their leadership potential towards serving society. Shapers are highly motivated individuals who have a great potential for future leadership roles in society. They are selected on the basis of their achievements, leadership potential, and commitment to ma

ke a difference. Through the Global Shapers Community, Shapers are provided with opportunities to connect with the worldwide network of Global Shapers, to network with other World Economic Forum communities, and to represent the voice of youth at World Economic Forum events. Shapers are united by a common desire to channel the membersโ€™ tremendous energy and enthusiasm into building a more peaceful and inclusive world. The Global Shapers Community is one of several multi-stakeholder communities at the World Economic Forum. Other communities include the Young Global Leaders, the Global Agenda Councils, and the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurs.

Glorious Mazendame - a development Practitioner and Senior Program Coordinator at Emergination Africa, where she leads national initiatives that equip high school students with entrepreneurial and leadership skills to thrive in the future of work.

Chioneso Samantha Kanoyangwa - serves as the Coordinator of the African Sovereign Debt Justice Network (AfSDJN) hosted by Afronomicslaw. She is a legal scholar and social and economic justice activist from Zimbabwe with experience in transparency and accountability mechanisms around debt management in Africa.

Jean-betrand Mhandu is one of the Earthday.org Regional Directors for Africa. He is also the National Coordinator of the African Youth Initiative on Climate Change Zimbabwe (AYICCZim).He coordinates youth organizations and youths in Zimbabwe and across Africa to actively participate and implement Environmental Management, Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation projects.

Nokukhanya Mabhena is a dedicated environmental advocate, currently pursuing her final year in Digital Disease Surveillance and Environmental Health at the University of Zimbabwe. With experience in environmental activism and research. Her interests lie on the climate-health nexus. She's an Oxford School of Climate Change alumna.

Weโ€™re thrilled to introduce the incredible speakers & panelists leading discussions at Building a Sustainable Future for Zimbabwean Youth-Protecting the Planet! ๐ŸŒฑ

Keynote Speaker: Micheal Opeyemi Ige

With 20+ years in youth-centered social service, Micheal has led impactful initiatives in policy advocacy, governance, and economic development. As Programme Manager for UNFPA Ghanaโ€™s YoLe Fellowship, he trained 122 Fellows and engaged 100,000+ youth in outreach programs. His work spans international consultancy with the World Bank, FAO, and UN agencies, supporting youth employment programs across Africa. Currently, Micheal is the Youth Programme Advisor to UN/WFP Zimbabwe, driving skills development and engagement.

Panelist: Dzivaidzo Mumbengegwi

With 10+ years in environmental management, policy, and sustainability, Dzivaidzo has played a key role in impact assessment, regulatory compliance, and green policy development both locally and regionally. She has worked with government agencies, corporations, and communities to drive sustainable solutions for Zimbabwe. Passionate about environmental governance and development, she actively contributes to discussions on green policy and ecological transformation.
