*👑 THE WEWA BINGA AFFAIR : WHERE SISTERHOOD MET ADVENTURE*….💃💃💃💃*
There are trips, and then there are *WEWA trips!!!* —the kind where the itinerary may say Educational Tour, but somehow every day becomes a perfect blend of adventure, laughter, sisterhood, fashion, learning and just a little bit of beautiful chaos.
From *17 to 20 September 2026,* the ladies of the *Air Force of Zimbabwe Wings of Empowerment Women’s Association (WEWA)* descended on the beautiful resort town of Binga for an educational tour that turned out to be much more than a change of scenery. It was a celebration of women, friendship, culture, wellness and the joy of simply being together.
*DAY ONE: BINGA, WE HAVE ARRIVED!* 💃🧳💼🛍️🚐🚌📍
The priority was simple:
*Arrive. Check in. Settle down. Rest!!!!*
The real Binga experience would begin the following day.
And when morning came, the adventure was officially on….🤗🥰😊

*DAY ONE: BINGA, HERE WE COME!* 💃💃💃💃💃💃
Friday morning began at a more relaxed pace as the ladies prepared for their first full day in Binga.
After breakfast, the group headed to the Binga Museum, where they were introduced to the rich history and cultural heritage of the area.
The museum visit provided an opportunity to learn about the people, traditions and history that make Binga unique.
Of course, a WEWA outing would not be complete without photographs.
Phones and cameras came out as the ladies captured memories of their first official adventure.
From the museum, the group continued to Batonga Village, where they experienced a different side of Binga and gained an appreciation of the local community, culture and way of life.
It was educational, fascinating and a reminder that travelling within Zimbabwe can open doors to stories and experiences that are sometimes right on our doorstep.

*THE FIRST BOAT CRUISE* 🚢
Then came one of the most exciting parts of the day. The ladies prepared for the boat cruise. Because the group was divided into two teams, the boat experience was done in two trips.
Team A took the first trip.
As they headed out onto the water, the beautiful Binga landscape opened up around them. The breeze, the scenery and the excitement of being on the water created the perfect escape.
There was laughter, conversation, photographs and that unmistakable feeling of “We really needed this!”
While Team A enjoyed their cruise, Team B waited for their turn.
And their turn would come the following morning.

*NOSTALGIC NIGHT: SCHOOLGIRLS AGAIN!* 📚📓📝👧🧑✈️💃
After the day’s activities, the ladies returned to their lodges to freshen up.
But this was no ordinary evening. It was time to go back to school!
The ladies transformed themselves for Nostalgic Night, appearing in school uniforms and bringing back memories of their school days.
For a few hours, military ranks and adult responsibilities took a back seat. The ladies became schoolgirls again.
There were photographs 📸, laughter, dinner and a classroom lesson on projects. The atmosphere became increasingly lively as the DJ took over and the ladies enjoyed an evening of music and entertainment.
It was one of those nights where the laughter probably became louder as the evening progressed.
And somewhere between the music, jokes, dancing and nostalgic memories, the ladies were reminded that growing older does not mean growing boring!

*DAY TWO: ROUND TWO ON THE WATER* 🚤 💃☀️🌅
Saturday morning brought another beautiful Binga sunrise—and this time, there was no waiting around.
Team B headed out for the second boat cruise, completing the boat experience that had started the previous day.
While Team A had enjoyed the first trip, Team B now had their own opportunity to experience Binga from the water.
It was a perfect start to another adventurous day.
After the boat cruise, the ladies regrouped and prepared for the day’s next experiences.

*HOT SPRINGS, CROCODILES AND A LITTLE COURAGE* 🌊💦🐊 ⛲️🪸
The ladies dressed in their orange T-shirts and khaki and headed out to explore more of Binga.
First stop:
*THE HOT SPRINGS* 💃💃💃
The ladies explored the natural attraction, taking in the scenery and enjoying another opportunity to experience the beauty of the area.
Then came something a little more adventurous.
THE CROCODILE FARM!
The group headed to the crocodile farm for an educational and fascinating encounter with one of Zimbabwe’s most formidable creatures.
There was curiosity, excitement and, for some, probably a very healthy appreciation for the distance between themselves and the crocodiles!
The visit provided yet another opportunity to learn about wildlife and the environment while enjoying a completely different experience from their everyday lives.

*SANDY BEACH: LET THE GAMES BEGIN!* 🏖️ 🏝️ ⚽️ 🏊 👙🏊🩱🏊♀️🏊♂️💃💃💃💃💃
After returning to their lodges, the ladies had time to rest and prepare for the afternoon.
Then came the transformation.
Out went the khakis.
In came the summer dresses, swimwear and sun hats.
Destination?
*SANDY BEACH!*💃💃💃💃
After lunch, it was time for the much-anticipated Beach Games: And suddenly, this was no longer just a ladies’ outing….The beach became a playground.💃💃💃
There were cheers.
There was teasing.
There was encouragement.
And, inevitably, there were those ladies who took the beach dances very seriously! 🎼 🎶 💃💃

*FROM BEACH BABES TO BRIDGERTON LADIES* 👠 👗 💃
After an exciting afternoon at Sandy Beach, the ladies returned to their lodges to prepare for the evening.
And once again, WEWA proved that its ladies could transform.
From beachwear…
to *Bridgerton!*
The Bridgerton Masquerade Ball brought an entirely different energy to the evening.
Elegant outfits, masks, photographs and glamour replaced the relaxed beach atmosphere.
The ladies arrived looking every bit like they had stepped out of another era.
After photographs, prayer and a musical interlude, dinner was served.
But the evening was not only about glamour and entertainment.

*CONVERSATIONS THAT MATTER*
One of the most meaningful moments of the evening was the discussion on Women’s Health and Gender-Based Violence.
In the midst of all the fun, the programme created space for an important conversation about issues that affect women and families.
It was a reminder that empowerment is not simply about celebrating women.
It is also about educating women, protecting women, supporting women and giving women the knowledge and confidence to make informed choices about their lives and wellbeing.
The conversation brought purpose to an already memorable evening.
And then, naturally…
the DJ took over!
The ladies danced, laughed and enjoyed the final stretch of another unforgettable day.

*MORE THAN AN EDUCATIONAL TOUR*
By the time the Binga adventure came to an end, the ladies had done far more than simply follow an itinerary.
They had explored a museum.
They had visited Batonga Village.
They had experienced Binga from the water.
They had learned about local culture and wildlife.
They had visited the Hot Springs.
They had encountered crocodiles.
They had competed on Sandy Beach.
They had travelled back to their school days for Nostalgic Night.
They had transformed into Bridgerton queens.
They had shared important conversations about women’s health and gender-based violence.
But above all, they had spent quality time together.
They laughed together.
They encouraged one another.
They competed together.
They learned together.
They danced together.
And they created memories that will outlive the photographs.
Because sometimes women do not need another meeting, another briefing or another official function.
Sometimes they simply need each other.
And Binga gave WEWA exactly that.
Binga 2026 — We came for the tour, but we left with memories, laughter and an even stronger sisterhood. ❤️🌸🏖️
