Season’s Greetings
As we come to the close of another year, 2025 leaves us with powerful lessons from the conservation space, lessons of urgency, resilience, and responsibility.
This year reminded us that nature is under pressure like never before. From climate extremes and biodiversity loss, to growing waste and over-consumption, the triple planetary crisis has never felt more real. Yet, 2025 also showed us what is possible when leadership, science and community voices come together.
We witnessed landmark global conversations, from climate negotiations to wildlife governance, where Africa’s voice grew stronger and more coordinated. We saw progress in protecting vulnerable species, renewed focus on nature-based solutions, and growing recognition that conservation must work with people, not against them.
As we look ahead to 2026, the work continues. The next year calls for deeper unity, stronger laws, better enforcement, and real benefits for communities living alongside nature. It calls on all of us, governments, institutions, businesses, and individuals, to consume more responsibly, reduce waste, and value nature not just as a resource, but as our life-support system.
As we celebrate this festive season, let’s remember that how we live, what we buy, and what we throw away all shape the future of our planet.
Wishing you a peaceful conservation Christmas, a reflective break, and a New Year filled with purpose, action and hope for nature.
🌱 Protect nature. Live responsibly. The future depends on it.
