Delivering opening remarks at the engagement meeting, Acting Deputy Clerk of Parliamentof Zimbabwe Ms. Lucia Nyawo reaffirmed Parliament’s openness to support the campaign to end adolescent pregnancy.

She highlighted Parliament’s previous support for safeguarding policies and its continued commitment to creating a safer, healthier future for young people.

together with the National AIDS Council of Zimbabwe , Young People's Network On SRHR, HIV & AIDS & key partners, is convening an engagement meeting with members of Parliamentof Zimbabwe Portfolio Committee on Health today in Harare.

In 🇿🇼, nearly 1 in 4 girls aged 15–19 are already mothers or pregnant, & 1 in 3 young women are married before 18. Building on the youth-led initiative to end , we are engaging members of Parliament, taking the campaign to constituency level through the campaign.

Together, lawmakers, traditional leaders, & communities are uniting to end child marriage, adolescent pregnancy, and preventable maternal deaths.

Football is more than a game - it is a launchpad for empowerment.

Meet Violet. 💛 - a survivor of fistula.

For many women and girls living with obstetric fistula, can bring pain, isolation and loss of dignity. But through access to fistula repair surgery, lives are being restored and hope renewed.

Thanks to the support of the , funded by the UK in Zimbabwe Embassy of Ireland, Pretoria EU Delegation to Zimbabwe women and girls such as Violet are receiving life-changing treatment that is helping them heal, regain confidence and return to living normal, fulfilling lives.

Violet’s story is a powerful reminder that investing in quality maternal health services transforms lives and restores dignity for women across Zimbabwe.

📍UNFPA Zimbabwe in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Child Care, is holding a fistula repair camp at Chinhoyi Hospital which began on the 17 August.

Obstetric fistula is a preventable childbirth injury that causes severe medical and social challenges, often leaving women isolated and in pain.

To date over 11 cases have been repaired. The camp ends on the 29th of August.

This camp is about more than just surgery; it’s about restoring hope, confidence, and the ability for these women to reclaim their place in their communities. We remain committed to ensuring that every woman and girl has access to the care she needs to live a healthy, dignified life.
