I have been approached by quite a number of single parent headed families asking for school fees and food assistance on numerous occasions this December 2021 . The number is growing as we approach month end.
These parents consider me to be better placed in the community as I used to assist in some cases in the past. Most of the cases are for those who lost bread winners from the COVID 19 pandemic, road accidents heart problems and other eilments who I know from the locality. I felt helpless and desperation forced me to approach others whom I thought would give help, and to my surprise their situations were as good as mine and worse in some instances.
All of us faced by the same problem, we had to sit down and try to get a solution. We found out that.some of the children had dropped out from boarding schools and are traumatized and may need counselling and rehabilitation to return to their original stature.
An idea them came to us so that the children could be helped through crowd funding to raise the money from well-wishers. The group suggested that eventually if this move becomes successful. a Trust fund will be formed so that it becomes a country wide initiative.
The group came out with a proposed name to be given to this setup as
(NEW DAWN EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE TRUST)
The organization will be turned into a trust to run an assistance fund for these children and others through out Zimbabwe.
