Yesterday in Dema, we held a powerful Montessori Mhamha's session centered on one message: caregivers need care too.

Led by Mitchel Chimbga, our Community Child and Wellness Associate, our mhamha's opened up about the realities they carry every day — from marital challenges to financial stress and the weight of holding families together.

Our reminder was simple but essential: Home is the first classroom, but you cannot pour from an empty cup. We encouraged each mother to pause and ask herself, “How am I as an individual?”

At African Montessori Hub, we believe supporting children starts with supporting those who care for them. When mothers are well, families and communities thrive.

Thank you to the Dema community for your openness and trust.💚

What does an endless summer of learning look like?💚

For us, it’s curiosity that doesn’t end when school does. It’s educators, parents and lifelong learners coming together to center African identity in Montessori practice.

This October, African Montessori Hub is hosting An Endless Summer of Learning — A Montessori Weekend with Prof. Paige Bray alongside Tinotenda Matenda, Kundiso Rusike, Kudzai Tseriwa and Masimba Madondo.

Join us for rich dialogue and practical, hands-on sessions on raising children who are rooted and reimagining education for Africa.

Saturday, Oct 24 | 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Wise Owl School, Lomagundi Site | In-person
