Refuse to come down
Today’s message was from Nehemiah Chapters 1-6 paying particular attention on 4:8.
Nehemiah’s patriotism is amazing. He left his comfort zone as the king’s cup bearer upon hearing the bad news from home that Jerusalem lies in ruins,the walls are broken down. He goes back home and starts building. This irked the enemy. An enemy is anyone who tries to stop what God is about to do with your life. Sanballat and company were furious when they had that the walls were being rebuilt. On the day you decide to rebuild your broken life your adversary Satan will be furious and he will throw accusations but keep working.
In Chapter 6:1-4 Sanballat and company called Nehemiah down for a meeting with the intention of harming him. “I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down to you,” Nehemiah replied. The enemy will try to distract you by any means necessary but refuse to come down. They will call you names but refuse to come down. They will throw accusation but refuse to come down.
