Attendance was 40 (females 21 males19)
Positive parenting for Children and Youths with disabilities (CYWDs) need to be taught beause it is complex.
The caregivers and children and youths with disabilities were given an opportunity to give their views regarding what constitute proper positive parenting, the challenges faced and advice that could be given to a parent with children with disabilities. From the noted responses the department of Social development was able to give a lesson on the dangers of positive reinforcement and situations when it can be used. Relating with children in love, comforting them, offering relevent discipline,
The DSD concluded by encouraging the caregivers to be courageous because it is not easy to take care of a child with a disability but to speak, Walk and stay positive. 3 parents testified that the training helped to refrain from insulting and beating their children as a method of instilling discipline and they learnt they need to first appreciate them then discipline or withdraw some privileges

Children and Youth with Disabilities (CYWDs) need protection because they are vulnerable. Drivers of abuse were discussed, types of abuse and indicators that show that children are neglected.
Way forward: 1. CYWDS acknowledge the need for intimacy but they are vulnerable to choose patners, they may not know they are taken advantage of and therefore were taught about boundaries
2. The community attitude towards disability should be positive
Children with Disabilities should not be used for charity cases or as objects.
