🌍 Love in an Unloving World 🔥
On Friday evening, we gathered as a family for a powerful and timely session led by Abigirl Dube.
đź’ˇ Key Highlights
- What is Love?
Love is more than emotion—it is selfless care, sacrifice, and commitment. It is action, not just words (1 John 3:18).
- Types of Love:
We explored the many forms—familial, ludus, pragma, philautia, mania—but focused deeply on Agape love, the highest form: unconditional, selfless, and Christlike.
- Love Languages:
People receive love differently—through words of affirmation, quality time, physical touch, acts of service, and gifts. True love meets others where they are.
- Why Love Matters:
Love heals, unites, and reflects Christ. In a world quick to judge and selfish, godly love remains patient, sacrificial, and rooted in truth (1 Peter 4:8, 1 John 4:8).
🗣️ Reflections
We discussed the balance between loving others and practicing self-love. As Vuyani Fabian reminded us, “You can’t pour from an empty cup.” Healthy love involves boundaries, identity, and self-care—so that our giving remains genuine, not people-pleasing.
Abby emphasized: “Be the reason someone is smiling. Love is the cheapest gift—it’s not about material things, but about self-denial for others.” ❤️
đź“– Closing Wisdom
- Never lose yourself trying to please others.
- Set boundaries and know your identity.
- Remember Samson’s story—one action in the name of love can cost your destiny.
We ended with gratitude, laughter, and a reminder to celebrate love not just on Valentine’s Day, but every day. 🌹✨
