In the heart of Tongogara Refugee Settlement, a beacon of hope is born to embark on a journey of success and laughter with all underprivileged children. This Friday, we are going to conclude our holiday lessons with Primary students, which lasted for a month.

As students prepare to return to school, the CEIT team has organized a donation to offer to every Grade 6 Primary student who attended lessons throughout the holiday. We successfully distributed exercise books, pens, covers, and tape. We strongly believe that this support will help reduce back-to-school expenses, as it is one of the biggest challenges our beneficiaries face.

We're not stopping there; our support is planned to be broader, meeting the larger needs of children in the refugee settlement. During school holidays, we aim to provide weekend lessons and support students with homework and a study space.

URGENT APPEAL: Empowering Young Minds in Tongogara Refugee Settlement

In the heart of Tongogara Refugee Settlement, a beacon of hope shines bright. CEIT's holiday lessons for Grade 6 students officially commenced on December 15th, offering a lifeline to those seeking a better future. 🌟

Imagine learning under the scorching sun, with no shelter from the elements, no desks, no chairs, and no safe space to call your own. This is the harsh reality for our students. Yet, they persevere, driven by a thirst for knowledge and a desire to break the cycle of poverty.

Our strategic plan is designed to empower our students with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to succeed:

- Strengthen understanding of core subjects
- Provide guidance and counseling on the importance of education
- Foster health awareness and promote healthy lifestyles
- Equip students with digital awareness and skills
- Reduce bad behaviors and promote positive values

This initiative will not only benefit Grade 6 students but also extend to Grade 7 students next year, empowering them to become agents of change in their communities.

But we need YOUR help! We are seeking support to construct a safe and conducive learning center, a haven where our students can thrive without fear of the elements or danger. 🌳💔

Your contribution will be a beacon of hope, a symbol of resilience, and a testament to the power of humanity. Every donation, big or small, will bring us closer to making a tangible difference in the lives of our students.

Join us in this noble cause. Let's empower young minds, build a brighter future, and create a ripple effect of kindness that will echo for generations to come. 🙏

Together, we can make a difference!🌈

Should you feel touched and have something with to support Refugee students, do not hesitates to contact us on our email: [email protected] or on +263 78 564 2092

Let's rise to the challenge and give these young minds the gift of education! 🎁

Boxing training is also a part of talent development, our students had a time to practice punching. We believe these are the most top champions for under 15 boxing championship game in Tongogara Refugee Settlement.

As the coordinator of the program, we make sure that this peaceful game is practiced regularly to help improve boxing skills in young boys. We aim at building a space where every talent is unleashed.

Today we had a wonderful time with our students, we were teaching them on how to write a professional letter which seeks any sort of support. We had this activity done, so that we ensure our brilliant students have advanced knowledge on essays and letter writing without the use of Artificial Intelligence. Since they are on gap months for secondary education grade 8, we are under great expectations for the best results. However, since the funds cut crisis had caused devastated situations across the globe, our students will be the first victims of the cutting of funds effect. In Tongogara Refugee Settlement, parents highly depends on UNHCR support, but since downsizing of their support took effect, the secondary education was halted from their budget, taking effect the coming year. Refugee parents are supposed to pay school fees for their children next year, which is one of the most difficult issue for them solve, some parents will not be able to raise the money. Therefore, we are looking forward to any kind support that will enable our students to continue their education without failure.

Home visit lessons, it might seem a difficult task but with love you find it a daily habit. From the onset of our work, the Creative Empowerment Initiative in Tongogara(CEIT), started its very first move by visiting students at their homesteads for lessons. Without any sense of profiting any cents from them, we delivered lessons for a period of 4 and half months providing our own cash for operational and stationery costs. A team which started from two people evolved to 12 volunteers aiming at seeing children support and empowerment in action. Though we grew to a larger number the team wanted to be motivated as well. Through stipends and other incentives that will keep them tied to the mission. Sometimes I felt like quitting the mission but children were counting on us anyhow, I had to continue finding ways to keep the work going.

I had to seek partnership with local organizations( refugee youthled) and others, but it was hard for a successful partnership since my organization had nothing, there was no one to trust me, all my speeches were being neglected, I seemed like a divine gospel preacher. After all I could not give up, disappointment were obvious but I stared at positive side. Thank to God, the Lord Jesus Christ himself for creating an opportunity that enabled our connection with the people of USA. They fervently invested in the ongoing of our work. Because it was a full package blessing, the same month we received an acceptance letter from the REPSSI organization in Tongogara Refugee Settlement for partnership and collaboration which would enable us to centralize our services at one place. Henceforth our work to support little children educationally and mentally grew from 10 beneficiaries to 145 beneficiaries including those in grade 6, grade 7 and new refugee arrivals who received free English language extra lessons after their dismissal from class 2 lessons offered by the TDH organization.

As we are at the threshold of ending our collaboration with the REPSSI organization this end of year, we are open for further collaboration with different stakeholders, organizations and local governments. We are therefore calling you to support our work as we support non privileged students at Ceitongogara.officals Youth Led Org.
