Last week, we were glad to have further discussion on the possibility of scaling up our nursery seedling activities.

Spearheaded by Africa University, a TAGDev 2.0 program is raising hope in Tongogara Refugee Settlement as young people who have been longing for multiple skill-based training may soon have the chance to learn life-changing vocational skills. Thanks to the Settlement Authority’s effort.

The program extends to nursery management, and we were happy to discuss with Walter Manyangarirwa, TAGDev 2.0 Coordinator, to explore potential support to bring our nursery to full operational capacity.

Our engagement focused on the project overview, implementation plans, nursery activities, and the resources needed for scaling up.

Yesterday, we were honored to host Fungai Dewere, Wilcox jenje, and Tino Matenda for the partners’ monitoring and learning visit.

For RCCA, which has been implementing a 3-month International Youth Funds project supported by , the visit focused on project report guidance and field monitoring.

As part of the program, we presented our broad climate action work and shared the challenges we face as a young organization operating in a changing, underfunded environment. The delegation also visited our nursery and a small piece of land we restored from a community dumpsite. The visit concluded with a symbolic tree planting, a tradition adopted by the Settlement Authority for every delegation to leave a living memory.

Thanks to the generous support of Terre des hommes Germany, through the International Youth Fund, our weekly youth engagement activities have increased.

Last week, on Friday and Saturday, we conducted a climate awareness education session followed by a community cleaning campaign, reaching over 120 young participants. These initiatives were entirely facilitated and led by young people, reflecting our commitment to youth empowerment and peer-led development.

We deeply appreciate the continued support that makes this important work possible.
