💛 August is Appendix Cancer Awareness Month 💛

This August, we shine a light on Appendix Cancer, a rare form of cancer that begins in the appendix, a small pouch attached to the large intestine. Although uncommon, appendix cancer is real, and early diagnosis can make a significant difference.

Many people are unaware that appendix cancer often has no symptoms in its early stages. When symptoms do occur, they may include:
• Persistent abdominal pain or discomfort
• Bloating or an increase in abdominal size
• Changes in bowel habits
• Unexplained weight loss
• A lump in the abdomen
• Symptoms that resemble appendicitis

Because these symptoms can be mistaken for other conditions, it is important to seek medical attention if they persist or worsen.

Did You Know?

Appendix cancer is rare, making awareness and research especially important.
It can affect both men and women.
Some cases are only discovered after surgery for suspected appendicitis.
Early medical assessment can improve treatment options and outcomes.

This month, we encourage everyone to:
✅ Learn the signs and symptoms.
✅ Listen to your body and seek medical advice for persistent abdominal concerns.
✅ Support those living with appendix cancer.
✅ Share this message to help raise awareness.
