Born out of the World Economic Forum, the Global Shapers Community Bulawayo Hub is a network of dynamic go-getters! The Bulawayo Hub, based in Zimbabwe's second-largest city, is a dynamic group of self-starters in their respectiv

e fields who are driven by a shared spirit of rebuilding Bulawayo. The young professionals pool their skills and resources to implement projects promoting Bulawayo's sustainable socio-economic development. The Hub has implemented the following projects: Mental Wellness, Employability, Entrepreneurship, and the Economy (EEE). To date, over 200 youth, women, and men have benefitted from the projects. In implementing the projects, the Hub partners with various central and local government departments, industry captains, civil society organizations, and other social influencers in achieving high-impact wins. Its vision is to develop existing youth potential in the city of Bulawayo and to promote leadership, growth, and social change. Our mission is to be a group of dynamic young leaders committed to positively impacting our community through initiatives that ensure a continued effort and commitment to living up to the values of the World Economic Forum which is ‘Committed to improving the state of the world’. The Bulawayo Hub members are young individuals extracted from the public, private, and all sectors based in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe’s economic hub and actively influencing their communities through various social initiatives and entrepreneurial projects and collaborations with other hubs nationally and regionally. Some of the initiatives of the Bulawayo Hub include the Failure festival, where individuals can share their stories of failure and how they copied their failures. We also have a mental health platform on WhatsApp where we host professional therapists who teach on mental health, the causes, and how as individuals we can improve our mental health or help our loved ones who are mentally challenged. We also collaborate with the National University of Science and Technology Department of Environmental Health, where we do clean-up campaigns in the city as a strategy to eradicate global warming and reduce the effects of climate change. We also partner with the orphanages and we had a Birth certificate project, where we, with the help of Mpilo Hospital, would help young people to get birth certificates. During the festive season, we would also visit the children´s homes and share some food parcels, as a way of showing our care and extending our love to the less privileged. We also host the road to Davos, where we invite our leaders and engage them on the issues of concern as young people. We also have different portfolios that include EEE where we deal with issues on Employability, Entrepreneurship and the Economy (EEE); Climate change, and mental health. Contact us: Send a message
