Today, as we commemorate JCI International Human Duties Day, JCI Metro Zimbabwe proudly put human duties into action by donating groceries and essential goodies to Tose Respite Care Home in Sunningdale.

Beyond the donation, we toured the home’s poultry project, where we are proud to have contributed 100 layer chickens since the project’s inception in 2024. As the Vice President Community seeing the progress made through this partnership is a reminder that sustainable support creates lasting impact.

As we continue to grow together, we look forward to expanding our partnership by supporting the newly established greenhouse tomato project and fish farming project, helping build long-term food security and economic sustainability for the home.

Human Duties are more than words, they are our shared responsibility to serve, empower, and create opportunities for those around us.

Join us as we celebrate and wish Ms Shumirai Chakaora, the Executive Director, Inuka Women of Zimbabwe Trust a Happy Birthday. We declare more life and abundant blessings.

Ms Chakaora has fought for equality, representation, justice and the uplifting and support of women and girls in marginalized communities. She has dedicated her life and committed to serve and today it is a privilege to celebrate such a decorated life.

Young people can’t wait.

Every day, young people face barriers to accessing the Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) services they need. From stigma and discrimination to limited youth-friendly services, these challenges continue to affect their health, well-being, and future opportunities.

It's time to move beyond promises and take action. We need greater investment in youth-friendly spaces, better-trained service providers, and inclusive SRH services that are accessible to all young people.

A healthy, informed, and empowered generation starts with the decisions we make today.

Having Received my certificate in Child Protection and Safeguarding Course is a proud milestone and most rewarding experience for me this year but what I value even more is the incredible learning journey that came with it. I can confidently say the knowledge gained, insights shared, and relationships built will continue to influence my work and professional growth. This experience challenged my assumptions, broadened my perspective, and reminded me that learning is a lifelong process. It provided a valuable platform for learning, networking, and connecting with like-minded professionals who are equally committed to protecting and supporting vulnerable populations. The programme reinforced an important lesson: no matter how much we know, there is always room to grow, adapt, and learn from others.

Thank you once again for this remarkable experience, the knowledge shared, and the opportunity to be part of such an inspiring learning community. I am truly grateful.

Breaking barriers to young people's access to Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) information and services requires more than roundtable discussions. It calls for deliberate systems, policies, and measures that ensure young people can access these services with respect, confidentiality, safety, and dignity.

Every young person deserves the right to accurate SRHR information and quality services delivered in an environment that is non-judgmental, inclusive, and empowering. Creating such spaces is essential to ensuring that no young person is left behind.

Access to Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) services is essential for healthy communities and brighter futures.
When access to family planning, HIV prevention, testing, treatment, and counselling services is disrupted, the consequences can be severe. Women and girls face increased risks of unintended pregnancies, HIV, and other sexually transmitted infections.
No matter the situation, everyone deserves access to the healthcare and information they need to make informed decisions about their health and wellbeing.
Let's continue raising awareness and advocating for uninterrupted SRH services that protect lives, empower young people, and strengthen communities.

Climate change is not only an environmental issue — it is also a health and human rights issue.

When communities face droughts, floods, and water shortages, menstrual health and dignity are deeply affected. Limited access to clean water, sanitation, and menstrual products puts girls and young women at greater risk of stigma, health challenges, and missed opportunities.

“No water, no dignity; menstrual health comes under climate stress.”

We must amplify voices, protect SRHR, and ensure climate justice for all. A healthy planet must also mean healthy, dignified lives for women and girls.
