The Women and Law in Southern Africa(WLSA )in collaboration with Alliance For Women and Girls (AFWAG) conducted a capacity-building training for AFWAG Zimbabwe network members focusing on the Public Voluntary Organisation (PVO) Statutory Act and the steps required for successful registration. The session aimed to strengthen members understanding of compliance obligations, legal procedures, and documentation standards. Facilitator Bianca Mahere from WLSA outlined key provisions of the Act, emphasizing governance structures, accountability measures, and reporting duties. Participants were guided through the full registration process, including application preparation, submission requirements, and engagement with regulatory authorities. Practical examples and interactive discussions enabled members to identify common challenges and strategies for addressing them. The training enhanced participants confidence in navigating the PVO system and reinforced the importance of lawful, transparent organisational operations.

The Country Level Advisor for the Zimbabwe network Shumirai Celta Chakaora emphasized to all network members the critical importance of strictly following the procedures outlined in the PVO Act. She highlighted that full compliance is not only a legal requirement but also a safeguard for organisational credibility and sustainability. Members were reminded to ensure accuracy and completeness in all documentation, maintain proper governance structures, and adhere to timelines for submission and reporting. The Advisor was delighted to know that some network members had successfully completed their PVO registration and encouraged other network members to followsuit .She reinforced the message that proper adherence protects both individual organisations and the network as a whole.

When access is denied, health is denied too!

Every young person deserves access to Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) services that are youth friendly, stigma free, and accessible to all.

No one should be turned away, judged, or silenced when seeking care that can save lives.

Let’s create a community where SRH services are open, inclusive, and supportive because access to SRH is a right, not a privilege! This project is supported by Hivos through the SRHR Fund, with funding from SIDA.

Shape the future for adolescents and youths by supporting SRH policies for young people. Health is a right!!! SRH is a right!!!

Ensure SRH information for all.

It takes all of us to make sure our current and future generations are correctly informed about Sexual and reproductive health issues. It is better that we have an informed society than a society where the very issues that impact our youth (and future community) remain taboo and therefore untalked about.

Let's talk SRH

Today, we join the world in commemorating World Contraception Day under the theme:

“A Choice for All – agency, intention, access.”

We believe every woman, girl, and community deserves the right to make informed choices about their sexual and reproductive health.

Contraception is more than prevention. It is about AGENCY: the power to decide; INTENTION: the right to plan; and ACCESS: ensuring no one is left behind.

When women and girls have access to safe, affordable, and effective contraception, they are empowered to:

- Pursue education and careers
- Plan their families
- Improve health outcomes
- Contribute fully to society

Together, let’s break barriers, end stigma, and champion reproductive justice. Because every choice matters, every voice counts, and every life is valuable.
