Today, First Lady Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa had the privilege of watching an exciting encounter between Scotland FC and CAPS United.

Sport is a powerful instrument for unity, healthy living and national pride. It should bring us together, not divide us. However, violence, hooliganism, drug and substance abuse have no place in our game.

The First Lady once again reiterated her call to supporters, players and club leaders to reject all forms of violence and to uphold discipline and respect at all times.

"Our stadiums must remain safe, inclusive and welcoming spaces where families, women and children can enjoy the beautiful game in peace and dignity. Let us continue to uphold the values of Ubuntu that define us as Zimbabweans," she said.

What a wonderful Sunday afternoon at the National Sports Stadium for the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League clash between Scotland FC and CAPS United.

First Lady Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa who is in attendance said the day is even more special as we celebrate the reopening of the iconic stadium following its refurbishment.

"Congratulations to everyone who worked tirelessly to restore this important national asset," said the First Lady.

"Football unites people, promotes healthy living and inspires our young people. It should bring families together, not be marred by violence and hooliganism. As mothers and passionate supporters of the game, we say no to violence and yes to peaceful, family-friendly football where everyone feels safe and welcome.

"I wish both teams and their supporters an enjoyable afternoon filled with great football, sportsmanship, unity and respect," she added.

First Lady Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa yesterday attended cases of national interest at Rotten Row Magistrates’ Courts in Harare, where Guruve murder suspect Anymore Zvitsva was sentenced to 89 years on 10 counts.

Dr Mnangagwa, who followed proceedings and witnessed justice prevail, also observed other cases, including a r**e case involving a woman with disability who appeared in a wheelchair, as part of her efforts to understand how such matters are handled within the formal justice system.
