Anti-GBV Champions 🙌

We had a rare privilege of having the stewards of having a GBV free society in one place. VSU, medical experts, guidance and counselling teachers and paralegal officers.

This was in a meeting that was by facilitated by women for change, lusitu chambers and Kabanga Sub District Women Association - DWA.

The fight for reduced cases of GBV requires coordinated efforts from all the key players and in implementing our activities we ensure that everyone is involved, valued and equipped with the right information.

Our Anti-carbon emissions Champions

If our 0.5 percent effort will help make the world a better place then we will strive to put in 1 percent effort.

Our members had a skill exchange session where they learnt how to make improved cooked stoves. The cookstoves are been put up in most households of our beneficiaries. This is an exercise we are also rolling out to non members across Zimba district.

Improved cookstoves significantly reduce the amount of firewood that is used in food preparation and makes cooking bearable as eyes are less affected by the smoke which comes from burning wood.

Knowledge Sharing 🙌

Study circles are a vital tool for communities to use in sharing knowledge and getting things done faster and with some level of accuracy.

We visited our various area associations to encourage the formation and efficient functioning of study circles. Our members do not just learn, they execute too and that makes us a happy DWA.

"I am glad I was given this orange maize and I am confident I will harvest at least 10 by 50kgs bags."-Sevelina Siachilili.

Some selected Zimba DWA women planted high value crops in the 2025/2026 farming season. This was made possible through the support offered by CARE Zambia.

Our women have continued to show resilience in their farming. This too is a great farming season at Zimba DWA.
