Christian Women Rock today, Saturday April 25, 2026 led the Kapiri Mposhi community to mark World Malaria Day which was anchored under the theme ‘’’Driven to end malaria: Now we can: Now we must.
In this vain, Christian Women Rock in collaboration with the Ministry of Health organized a thrilling Soccer tournament for the local derby between Kapiri Bullets and Kapiri United held at Lukanda secondary school aimed at carrying the message to eradicating malaria across different communities.
Christian Women Rock executive director, Mercy Moyo expressed joy that many sector players do acknowledge the importance of stamping out malaria.
Ms Moyo shared some of the preventive measures to combatting malaria.
She also challenged the private sector to get involved in the fight against malaria which has since been classified universally as a deadly disease.
Cue….
And officiating at same the function, Kapiri Mposhi District Commissioner Francis Hasalama through his representative the Malaria Elimination Officer Lufwendo Mwenda called upon every general citizenry to take personal responsibility if the battle against malaria is to be conquered.
Mr Hasalama is saddened that annually numerous young children and expectant mothers die out of malaria cases thus requires concerted efforts to combat.

In a moment that showed true community leadership, the District Health Director (DHD) of Serenje stepped in and joined volunteers during the Ibolelo Market clean-up on April 17, 2026.
Instead of just supervising, the DHD was seen actively participating in the clean-up—clearing waste, interacting with community members, and showing that leadership is not only about giving direction, but also about taking part.
The clean-up was organized by Christian Women Rock (CWR) in collaboration with the District Health Office and Serenje Town Council. It was held to commemorate World Malaria Day and support the Keep Zambia Clean campaign. While many people came to support the activity, the DHD’s direct involvement stood out and sent a strong message to everyone present.
This act of commitment motivated Community-Based Volunteers (CBVs), Ward Development Committees (WDCs), stallholders, and business owners. It showed that fighting malaria and keeping the environment clean is everyone’s responsibility, no matter their position.

Thanks for the support in 2025 and wish you a prosperous 2026!!
