🔥 NAILED TO THE CROSS… OR WRITTEN IN THE HEART?
Why God’s Law Still Stands, Still Saves, and Still Defines True Love
“They told you the cross abolished God’s Law.
Jesus said the opposite.
One of them is wrong — and eternity is at stake.”
❤️ LIFTING THE MAN OF THE CROSS
Many today say, “Jesus died so we no longer need to obey.”
But Scripture does not say that.
The Bible declares that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and for ever (Hebrews 13:8).
The Christ who died on Calvary is the same Christ who spoke on Sinai.
When Jesus cried, “It is finished” (John 19:30), He was not announcing the death of God’s Law — He was declaring the completion of the sacrifice required because the Law was broken.
The apostle Paul explains this truth clearly:
“Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.”
(Romans 7:12, KJV)
If the Law were faulty, Christ would not have needed to die.
The cross proves the Law is unchangeable and sin is deadly.
Jesus is not only our Saviour —
He is our Lawgiver (Isaiah 33:22), our Example, and our King.
📜 1️⃣ THE TEN COMMANDMENTS IN THE OLD TESTAMENT — GOD SPOKE THEM HIMSELF
When God gave His Law, Scripture says:
“And God spake all these words, saying…”
(Exodus 20:1, KJV)
He did not whisper.
He spoke.
God Himself declared:
1️⃣. “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” (v.3)
2️⃣“Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image.” (v.4)
3️⃣ Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.” (v.7)
4️⃣“Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.” (v.8)
5️⃣ “Honour thy father and thy mother.” (v.12) 6️⃣“Thou shalt not kill.” (v.13)
7.“Thou shalt not commit adultery.” (v.14)
8.“Thou shalt not steal.” (v.15)
9.“Thou shalt not bear false witness.” (v.16)
10.“Thou shalt not covet.” (v.17)
Scripture then testifies:
“And he wrote them upon two tables of stone, and delivered them unto me.”
(Deuteronomy 9:10, KJV).
The Law came directly from God — not culture, not tradition, not man.
📖 2️⃣ THE TEN COMMANDMENTS CONFIRMED IN THE NEW TESTAMENT
1️⃣ No Other Gods
Jesus affirmed the first commandment when He said:
“Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.”
(Matthew 4:10, KJV)
2️⃣ No Idols
The apostle John warned believers plainly:
“Little children, keep yourselves from idols.”
(1 John 5:21, KJV)
Paul added:
“We ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s device.”
(Acts 17:29, KJV)
3️⃣ God’s Name Honoured
Paul instructed Christian servants:
“That the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed.”
(1 Timothy 6:1, KJV)
4️⃣ The Sabbath Remains
The New Testament explicitly declares:
“There remaineth therefore a rest [sabbatismos — Sabbath-keeping] to the people of God.”
(Hebrews 4:9, KJV)
5️⃣ Honour Parents
Paul quotes the fifth commandment directly:
“Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise;
That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.”
(Ephesians 6:2–3, KJV)
6️⃣–9️⃣ Murder, Adultery, Theft, Lying
Paul writes:
“For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness…”
(Romans 13:9, KJV)
🔟 Do Not Covet
Paul personally testifies:
“I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.”
(Romans 7:7, KJV).
Grace did not remove the Law — it revealed sin through it.
⏳ 3️⃣ THE LAW IS IMMUTABLE — NOW AND FOR ETERNITY
Jesus Himself declared:
“Think not that I am come to destroy the law… Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law.”
(Matthew 5:17–18, KJV)
Isaiah confirms the Law’s eternal relevance:
“For as the new heavens and the new earth… so shall your seed and your name remain.
And it shall come to pass… from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the Lord.”
(Isaiah 66:22–23, KJV)
❤️ 4️⃣ THE TEST OF KNOWING GOD — PROOF THAT YOU LOVE HIM
Jesus states plainly:
“If ye love me, keep my commandments.”
(John 14:15, KJV)
John confirms:
“Hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.”
(1 John 2:3, KJV)
Solomon concludes:
“Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.”
(Ecclesiastes 12:13, KJV)
Revelation describes God’s people:
“Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.”
(Revelation 14:12, KJV)
🚪 5️⃣ QUALIFICATION FOR HEAVENLY ENTRY
Scripture declares:
“Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.”
(Revelation 22:14, KJV)
Outside are those who reject God’s Law (v.15).
🌍 6️⃣ THE FINAL CALL — WORSHIP GOD AND KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS
The everlasting gospel proclaims:
“Fear God, and give glory to him… and worship him that made heaven, and earth.”
(Revelation 14:7, KJV)
This is a call back to the Creator, His Law, and His worship.
🚨 7️⃣ FINAL APPEAL & LAST-DAY VIGILANCE
“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock.” (Revelation 3:20)
“Come now, and let us reason together.” (Isaiah 1:18)
“I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked.” (Ezekiel 33:11)
“Choose life.” (Deuteronomy 30:19)
“Choose you this day whom ye will serve.” (Joshua 24:15)
“Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example.” (1 Peter 2:21)
“I have given you an example.” (John 13:15)
“Blessed is he that readeth… and keep those things.” (Revelation 1:3)
“If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.” (John 13:17)
“Comfort one another with these words.” (1 Thessalonians 4:18)
✝️ CLOSING — THE CROSS AND THE COMMANDMENTS TOGETHER
Christ did not die to free us from obedience,
but to free us from sin.
“Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.”
(Romans 3:31, KJV)
