“Clean Drinking Water” – most of the villages in Eastern Province use water from boreholes for their daily sustenance and when these boreholes get damaged, the villagers are forced to sink shallow wells which they end up sharing with their livestock. The Foundation has to date rehabilitated more than 20 boreholes by replacing damaged pipes, pipe seals, hand pumps, hand pump seals, bearings etc. Further the Foundation has embarked on upgrading some boreholes by replacing handpumps with submersible pumps and bringing piped water closer to the communities through the er****on of a water tank and laying of pipes and taps. These supply more that 500 households
