GLOBAL PEACE CHAIN ZAMBIA COUNTRY DIRECTOR ATTENDS NIGHT OF WORSHIPPERS AT GOSPEL IMPACT LIBERTY CHURCH, MAKES DONATION IN SUPPORT OF COMMUNITY FAITH INITIATIVES

Lusaka, Zambia — The Country Director of Global Peace Chain Zambia attended the uplifting Night of Worshippers event hosted by Gospel Impact Liberty Church in Lusaka, accompanied by the Head of Social Media.

The spiritually enriching gathering united worshippers, faith leaders, and community members in an evening dedicated to worship, prayer, and the promotion of peace through faith.

During the event, the Country Director expressed Global Peace Chain Zambia’s recognition of the important role faith-based institutions play in promoting peacebuilding, social cohesion, and moral leadership within communities. In support of the church’s impactful ministry and outreach efforts, a donation was presented as a symbol of solidarity and commitment to community development.

Speaking during the occasion, the Country Director praised Gospel Impact Liberty Church for its dedication to spiritual empowerment and its contribution to nurturing values of peace, hope, and unity.

Lusaka, Zambia – A joint delegation from the African Youth Pact for Development and Diplomacy (AfriPact), the Independent Continental Youth Advisory Council to the AfCFTA (Zambia Chapter), and Global Peace Chain held a high-level strategic meeting with officials from the U.S. Embassy Zambia.

The engagement was held with J. Spencer Driscoll, Deputy Political-Economic Chief, and Max Arcand, Public Affairs Section.

The delegation was led by Amb. Maxwell Banda and included Emmanuel Kalei, Suwilanji Ngoma, GPC Amb. Peter Chikwampu, Evelyn Sanjambela, and GPC Amb. Andrew Junior Mwima.

Key outcomes include strengthened institutional linkages, participation in Embassy-affiliated events and speaking opportunities, access to American Spaces (NIPA, CBU, and the Embassy), potential funding opportunities when available, and administrative capacity-building support including engagement with visiting and local American experts.

This meeting marks a significant step in advancing youth diplomacy, governance dialogue, and structured international cooperation.

International Day of Education – Peace Education Policy Dialogue & CSO Recommendation Paper Launch
24 January | Maya Angelou American Corner, Lusaka

On 24 January, in commemoration of the International Day of Education, Global Peace Chain Zambia successfully convened a Peace Education Policy Dialogue and Civil Society Education Paper Launch at the Maya Angelou American Corner in Lusaka.

The dialogue brought together Global Peace Chain Ambassadors, civil society actors, youth leaders, and education stakeholders to deliberate on strengthening peace education within Zambia’s education system. The engagement focused on translating global commitments on education, peacebuilding, and sustainable development into practical, nationally responsive policy recommendations.
A comprehensive Peace Education Recommendation Paper, developed through consultative processes, was formally launched and prepared for submission to the Ministry of Education.

The paper outlines actionable strategies to institutionalize peace education, promote civic responsibility, strengthen conflict prevention literacy, and align youth skills development with broader continental frameworks. The session featured moderated discussions, expert contributions, and the presentation of key recommendations aimed at enhancing inclusive and transformative education. Participants reaffirmed the role of education as a strategic instrument for social cohesion, democratic participation, and sustainable national development.

As Country Director of Global Peace Chain Zambia, I commend the dedication of our ambassadors and partners who contributed to the success of this engagement. The outcomes of the dialogue will be formally documented and shared as part of our national contribution to the global observance of the International Day of Education.
