πŸŽ“ URBAN FUTURE PROJECT CELEBRATES ITS SECOND GRADUATION AT THE HUB

The Urban Future Hub today celebrated the second graduation of young entrepreneurs under the Urban Future Project, marking the successful completion of four months of intensive mentorship aimed at equipping youths with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to build sustainable businesses.

The graduation ceremony was a celebration of growth, innovation, and the entrepreneurial potential of young people determined to create opportunities for themselves and contribute to the development of their communities.

Throughout the four-month mentorship programme, the youths received guidance and support to strengthen their business ideas, develop their entrepreneurial skills, and prepare to transform their ideas into viable business ventures.

The highlight of the day was the business pitching session, where the graduating youths presented their business ideas, demonstrating their creativity, commitment, and readiness to take the next step in their entrepreneurial journeys.

In a significant boost to their ambitions, all the youths who pitched had an opportunity to receive seed funding for their businesses, with amounts ranging from Β£250 to Β£900. This support provides a valuable opportunity for the young entrepreneurs to begin implementing their ideas, strengthen their business operations, and work towards building sustainable enterprises.

The achievement highlights the importance of combining mentorship, practical learning, and access to finance in empowering young people to move from ideas to action.

The Urban Future Project is implemented with the support of Hivos and the leadership of CUTS International Zambia working alongside consortium partners to promote youth empowerment, innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable economic opportunities.

As the youths graduate from the programme, the journey does not end here. Instead, it marks the beginning of a new chapter filled with opportunities, responsibility, and the challenge of turning their business plans into successful ventures.

Congratulations to all the graduating youths, May this milestone be the foundation for businesses that create jobs, improve livelihoods, and inspire other young people to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams.

Together, we are investing in young people today to build a stronger and more sustainable tomorrow. πŸŒπŸ‘

Did you know? Your fish pond can do more than produce fish it can also support your crop production.

The water in a fish pond or tank naturally collects nutrients from fish waste and leftover feed. Instead of letting that nutrient-rich water go to waste, farmers can use it to irrigate crops. This helps return valuable nutrients to the soil and can reduce reliance on chemical fertilisers.

This is one of the practical ideas behind integrated farming and aquaponics: producing more while using resources wisely.

At Global Network Solutions, we believe sustainable solutions can help farmers improve productivity, lower input costs, and protect the environment.

Would you consider using fish pond water to water your garden or crops? Tell us in the comments. πŸ‘‡
