On 22nd August 2026, the University of Zambia Business and Economics Association (UNZABECA) held its Homecoming Gala Dinner at Urban Hotel. The event brought together students, professionals, and industry leaders for an evening of networking, learning, and celebration.
The gala featured an elegant black and ch*****ne gold theme, creating a vibrant and memorable atmosphere for all attendees.
Participants benefited from an insightful panel discussion on career opportunities, featuring distinguished professionals including:
• Mr. Nicholas Kabaso, CEO of the Lusaka Securities Exchange
• Mr. Kachiza Kwenda, CEO of Prudential Zambia
• Mr. Anthony Lukwesa, General Manager Commercial at Madison General Insurance
• Mr. Chansa Bwale, Head of Bancassurance and Credit Life at Madison Life Insurance
• Dr. John Musantu, Economics Lecturer
Guests were also inspired by a motivational presentation delivered by the Guest of Honour, Dr. Webster Twaambo Jr., CEO of Finsbury Re. Additional remarks were delivered by representatives of sponsoring organisations.
The Insurance Association of Zambia (IAZ) Secretariat was represented by Mr Kambole Chituwo - Manager for Risk and Consumer Education, on behalf of the Executive Director, Dr. Nkaka Mwashika. Other members of the IAZ Secretariat were also in attendance.
IAZ was among the event sponsors, alongside Finsbury Re, the Lusaka Securities Exchange, NAPSA, Hobitton, Madison Life Insurance, and Madison General Insurance.
Deserving UNZABECA student received certificates of recognition. THe new Executive was also presented to the members. The event was exceptionally well organised, and UNZABECA deserves commendation for hosting a memorable evening that not only celebrated alumni connections but also demonstrated a strong commitment to preparing students for their future careers. We congratulate UNZABECA on the success of this remarkable event.
