A proud moment for Zambia Men's Network. The Yaba Guy Che Study has officially been launched, and we look forward to supporting community-centered approaches that improve men's health outcomes in Zambia. We are proud to celebrate the official launch of the Yaba Guy Che ("For the Men") Study.

This important five-year initiative marks a significant step towards improving access to integrated health services for men in Zambia through community-driven, co-designed, and evidence-based approaches.

The study will work alongside men, community members, healthcare workers, and policymakers to develop both digital and non-digital pathways to HIV, STI, TB, and NCD prevention and care services.

As Zambia Men's Network, we are honored to be part of this journey and to contribute to efforts that place men's lived experiences, community participation, and meaningful engagement at the center of health system strengthening.

We believe that healthier men contribute to healthier families, stronger communities, and a more resilient nation.

Congratulations to the Ministry of Health, Zambart, research partners, community stakeholders, and everyone working to make this initiative a success.

The journey has begun.

📢 Zambia Men’s Network Statement
We welcome the launch of the Violence Against Women in Elections Hotline (933 or 116), operated by Lifeline/Childline with support from government, civil society, and partners.
Women make up more than half of Zambia’s population, yet they remain underrepresented in politics—holding only 17% of parliamentary seats and 7% of local council positions. Research shows that financial barriers, entrenched gender norms, and Violence Against Women in Elections (VAWE) continue to limit participation.
This hotline provides a safe, confidential channel for survivors and witnesses to report incidents of violence, harassment, or intimidation. It also connects callers to survivor-centered services such as healthcare, counselling, legal aid, and electoral protection. Importantly, it will help make hidden forms of VAWE—like online harassment and psychological abuse—visible, enabling faster responses and stronger prevention.
As Zambia Men’s Network, we stand in solidarity with women leaders, voters, and campaigners. Ending violence in elections is essential for democracy, equality, and national progress.

This is a very critical reality that needs to be understood and addressed by everyone

For 30 years, the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) has been one of Zambia’s most important tools for delivering development closer to the people. In the 2026 National Budget, CDF has been increased from K36.1 million to K40 million per constituency, a clear sign of continued investment in community development.
But beyond the increased allocation, an important question remains:
What real change has CDF brought to your constituency?
Are projects being completed?
Are communities benefiting?
Are citizens involved and informed?

Zambia Men’s Network stands in firm solidarity with all voices calling for accountability, justice, and redress.
When public resources meant to uplift vulnerable families are diverted, misused, or squandered, it is not just a breach of policy—it is a betrayal of trust. The consequences are borne by the very communities these funds were meant to empower: women, children, persons with disabilities, and families living on the margins.
We echo the urgent call:
🛑 Stop the leakage.
📢 Demand transparency.
⚖️ Enforce redress.
Accountability is not optional—it is the cornerstone of dignity, equity, and development. We urge the Ministry of Justice and all oversight bodies to act decisively. Investigate. Publish findings. Hold perpetrators to account. Restore what was lost.
Zambia’s people deserve more than promises. They deserve principled leadership, responsible stewardship, and systems that protect—not exploit—their hopes.
We remain committed to mobilizing men and communities to champion justice, integrity, and inclusive development. Let this be a turning point.

Millions meant for vulnerable families have slipped through the cracks diverted to the wrong beneficiaries and wasted on substandard support.

When resources meant to lift communities out of poverty are mishandled, the most disadvantaged pay the price.

It’s time to hold leaders accountable and demand better stewardship of public funds. Zambia’s people deserve dignity, not mismanagement.
