Day 9 | 16 Days of Activism Against GBV

Today, Sibeso reminds us that GBV has evolved, it’s no longer just physical spaces. It now follows us to our phones, our screens, and even our private messages.

Listen to her message on this year’s theme and join the call to end all forms of violence, online.

Day 8: 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence

Today, we’re spotlighting a powerful message from Salifyanji, a member of the youth advisory panel using her voice to remind us what digital violence looks like.

A safer world for girls includes a safer internet.

This 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, Mwali calls on all of us to stand up, speak out, and advocate for the rights and safety of women and girls.

Violence has no place in our homes, schools, communities, or online. Every woman and every girl deserves safety, dignity, and respect both offline and in the digital world.

Your voice matters. Your actions matter. Be the force that challenges harmful norms and helps end GBV in all its forms, including digital violence.

16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence!

Pretty is calling attention to an issue many girls face every day, digital violence.
From online harassment to harmful messages, the virtual world can be just as unsafe as the physical one.

Let’s use our voices to make online spaces safer.
Report abuse. Support survivors. Challenge harmful behaviour.
Every action counts.

16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence!

Today’s word is Intention.
Jonathan, a member of our Youth Advisory Panel – chose Intention as a reminder that change begins with the choices we make every day.

He challenges us to intend to speak life into others: to use positive, respectful words, to listen with care, and to create spaces where everyone feels safe and valued.

Let’s be intentional about the language we use and the actions we take because ending gender-based violence starts with each of us.

We kick off the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence with a powerful reminder from Naomi, a member of our Youth Advisory Panel.

This year’s theme, “Unite to End Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls,” calls on all of us to create safe, inclusive, and empowering digital spaces. Every girl and woman deserves to feel safe online.

World Children’s Day at Chainda Clinic Youth-Friendly Space!

What a powerful way to celebrate World Children’s Day, by listening to, learning from, and engaging with young people and adolescents who are shaping the future.

Young people and adolescents shared thoughtful insights on digital safety, and how to build healthier, safer communities.

As we mark this important day, we’re reminded that every child deserves safety, opportunity, and a platform to be heard. We’re confident that the knowledge shared today will go beyond the room - carried into homes, schools, and communities.

Here’s to raising voices, protecting rights, and empowering young people to lead change.

Youth Dialogue at Mtendere Youth-Friendly Space!

Today we spent time with vibrant, energetic young people and adolescents at the Mtendere Youth-Friendly Space and what an inspiring session it was! Their engagement, curiosity, and openness made the dialogue truly meaningful.

Together, we explored important topics, including preventing gender-based violence, promoting healthy relationships, and strengthening the wellbeing of adolescents and young people.

We’re confident that the knowledge shared today won’t end here. These young leaders will carry what they’ve learnt back to their communities, sparking conversations and sharing vital information that can help create safer, healthier spaces for everyone.
Let’s keep empowering young people to lead the change.

In collaboration with Lusaka Provincial Administration- Gender Office, we have begun our pre-campaign for the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. Today, we are at the Chaisa Youth Friendly Space as we kick off these activities.

Our focus is on educating and engaging adolescents and youths in the prevention and fight against GBV, creating platforms where young people can learn, speak out and take action.

Throughout the week, we will conduct community sensitizations, focus group discussions and community engagement meetings aimed at strengthening awareness, empowering youth voices and building safer, more informed communities.
