BLOGGERS OF ZAMBIA CALLS FOR STRONGER COLLABORATION, EDUCATION AND CITIZEN VIGILANCE DURING 2025 CYBERSECURITY AWARENESS MONTH
Lusaka, Zambia – Bloggers of Zambia joins all stakeholders in calling for collaboration, education and awareness in enhancing Zambia’s cyber strength as the world commemorates Cyber Security Month in October. The security of personal data, national infrastructure and online platforms has become more critical in Zambia’s rapid digital journey.
Cyber threats such as online fraud, misinformation and data breaches continue to change, targeting individuals, public and private institutions. Zambia’s digital economy is growing rapidly and this calls for collective efforts that unites government, civil society, private sector, academia and all citizens in building a secure, open and trustworthy internet environment.
Bloggers of Zambia acknowledges the importance of the Cyber Security Act and Cybercrimes Act as frameworks for protecting citizens from online harms, securing digital transactions and safeguarding national infrastructure. However, the organization also emphasizes the need for continuous education, transparent implementation and stakeholder collaboration to ensure that the law protects without restricting digital rights and freedoms.
Throughout Cyber Security Awareness Month, Bloggers of Zambia will be engaging with journalists, content creators, policymakers and citizens online through media campaigns, online discussions and community outreach, aimed at demystifying cyber laws and promoting accountable digital citizenship.
As part of its commitment to a safe digital space, Bloggers of Zambia continues to advocate for inclusive digital policies, responsible technology use and enhanced public awareness on cyber safety and digital rights.
This Cybersecurity Awareness Month, the organization reaffirms that a secure internet begins with informed citizens and that every click, post and password matters in shaping Zambia’s digital future.
