DEAR YOUTH THE JOURNEY JUST COMMENCED!
The Youth Iam Foundation YIF wishes to launch our first ever program called THE AWAKENING MINDS INITIATIVE.
The awakening minds initiative is a youth-led program focused on empowering fellow young people together with their peers, parents/guardians/communities on the pragmatics that can be fostered in safe transitioning of an adolescent into adulthood, addressing factors that leads young people to end up as “street lupelants commonly known as Bakaponya” who abuses substances such as drugs and young girls who end up as teenage mothers, in relation to researchers who articulated that; fostering positive youth development(PYD) is critical on; safe places, challenging experiences and caring adults. Therefore I, the youth development enthusiast, currently pursuing a Bachelor Degree in Youth Development and Leadership, at The University of Zambia (UNZA) proudly aim to found this Non- Profit Youth Organization named “THE YOUTH IAM FOUNDATION (YIF) " by use of the knowledge accumulated, passionate about Positive Youth Development and who was once a victim of Mental Health such as Leant Loneliness, Deppression but luckily managed to thrive through the temptation of peer pressure wishes to all heartedly advocate for Positive Mental Health in the process of transitioning to the multiple lives of young adolescents by providing them with the Support, Opportunities and Services needed for them to become influential Positive Youth, who are positively civically engaged in implementing policies that promote youth productivity, rather than agents of vandalism during Political Campaigns/Rallies. In Urban and Rural areas of Zambia due to contextualization we will implement our first ever program in
Mansa District, Luapula by the year 2025.
