Children in Crisis (CC) is an independent Child centered, non-profit making, and non-partisan organization registered with the Registrar of NGOs Department under the Ministry of Community Development and Social Services of the Republic of Zambia in 2020. Its mandate is to create a platform where every child survive, thrive and live transformed in line with its vision “A world where every child survive, thrive and live transformed”
Children in Crisis was founded to help children and families avert escalating crises through provision of basic education, family strengthening, fighting against child abuse/GBV and counselling services to troubled children and their families/communities. This response is based on the Zambian statistics that indicate that half of the population in Zambia is comprised of Children under the age of 16. And most of these children live under abject poverty and are subjected to one or more forms of abuse. The organization is currently providing primary education, counselling and child protection/child’s rights and responsibilities education to about One hundred (100) children from Mtendere East and the Surrounding areas at its Centre (Farai School) in Mtendere East compound of Lusaka District in Zambia. Children in Crisis is working towards expanding its programs to other schools with Lusaka District and some rural districts.
