Productive Dialogue with the U.S. Embassy | American Corner Partners Forum
ZATU Creative Foundations joined other partner organizations for a frank discussion with the Regional Public Engagement Officer at the U.S. Space/American Corner U.S. Embassy Zambia .

The main agenda: to openly share the challenges organizations face in implementing programs through the American Corner, and to identify practical ways the Corner can improve its support, collaboration, and overall impact.

Key takeaway: It’s clear the U.S. is looking to go beyond just providing space. There’s a real willingness to extend necessary aid and resources to partners on the ground.

We appreciate the Officer’s candid insights on how the U.S. Space can better align with partner expectations.

Day 1 of Safeguarding Training with Restless Development

Today we learned why safeguarding is non-negotiable. Every organization must have strong systems in place to prevent harm and protect children, youth, and vulnerable people.

On behalf of ZATU Creative Foundations we’re grateful for this training. It’s helping us build safer practices, stronger policies, and a deeper culture of care in all our arts, culture, and youth work.

Thank you, Restless Development, for creating this space to learn and grow together.

Creativity with Purpose A Special Higlight on Miss Menstrual Health Zambia: More Than a Pageant, A Movement for Change

On 24th May 2026, ZATU Creatives Foundation proudly partnered with Donate a Pad Campaign to host Miss Menstrual Zambia, an inspiring platform that demonstrated how creativity can be harnessed to address important social issues and spark meaningful conversations.

Through the power of modeling, fashion, performance, storytelling, and artistic expression, young women took to the runway not only with confidence and elegance but also with a powerful message: menstrual health matters.

The vibrant fabrics, creative designs, and fierce runway walks became more than visual displays, they became tools for advocacy, awareness, and community engagement. Each contestant represented a voice for change, using creativity to challenge stigma, promote dignity, and encourage open dialogue around menstrual health.

What made this initiative truly remarkable is that its impact extends far beyond the stage. Throughout their journey, contestants implemented community projects, engaged their peers, and demonstrated leadership in advancing menstrual health awareness. Today, they continue to serve as menstrual health champions, carrying forward the knowledge, passion, and commitment they cultivated during the program.

At ZATU Creatives Foundation, we believe that creativity is not merely entertainment, it is a powerful vehicle for education, advocacy, and social transformation. When young people are given platforms to express themselves creatively, they can influence attitudes, inspire action, and contribute to solving real community challenges.

Miss Menstrual Zambia is more than a pageant. It is a movement of purpose, leadership, and impact. It is a reminder that creative platforms can amplify important conversations, empower young women, and build healthier, more informed communities.

We celebrate every contestant, partner, mentor, and supporter who made this initiative possible. Together, we continue to prove that when creativity meets a cause, change becomes inevitable.

Youth Voices Matter: Reflecting on Our Creatives Corner Session

On 20th May 2026, ZATU Creatives Foundation, in partnership with the Youth WASH ambassador club- YWAC, hosted a powerful edition of Creatives Corner under the theme: Youth-Led Storytelling for Menstrual Health Evaluation at Global Platform Zambia.

The session brought together young people, creatives, advocates, and community members to explore how storytelling, dialogue, and creative expression can help shape conversations around menstrual health. Through open discussions, personal reflections, and interactive activities, participants shared lived experiences, challenged stigma, and highlighted the importance of including youth voices in evaluating and improving menstrual health initiatives.

Too often, young people are seen only as beneficiaries of programs. This dialogue demonstrated that youth are also researchers, storytellers, advocates, and agents of change whose experiences and perspectives are essential for building more responsive and inclusive solutions.

We are encouraged by the openness, creativity, and passion shown by participants throughout the session. Together, we reaffirmed that storytelling is more than an art form, it is a powerful tool for advocacy, accountability, learning, and social transformation.

A sincere thank you to everyone who participated, shared their stories, and contributed to creating a safe and meaningful space for conversation and learning.

We showed up. And our creatives showed OUT.

Today ZATU Creatives Foundation was live at the Bantu Batu Arts Festival hosted by Bantu Network , a beautiful celebration of all art: crafts, poetry, music, dance, culture, and everything in between.

And of course, we couldn’t miss it.

Our ZATU creatives brought the heat with amazing work that speaks to who we are and where we’re going. From handmade pieces to powerful words, every item carried a story.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, asked questions, and supported Zambian talent. This is what building a creative ecosystem looks like: artists creating, communities connecting.

Bantu Batu reminded us: our culture is alive, loud, and worth investing in.
A huge shout out to our Operations Manager Taonga Phiri for running the show 🤝

If you missed us today, catch us next time. ZATU is just getting started. 🇿🇲

Youth-Led Evaluation for Menstrual Health

Vent will be at the global platform tomorrow to share how young people are leading the change in menstrual health evaluation.

At Vent, we believe the people closest to the issue have the clearest solutions. That’s why we center youth in designing, collecting, and analyzing data on menstrual health programs so evaluations are relevant, respectful, and actually drive better outcomes for girls and young women.

Tomorrow we’ll be showcasing:
How youth evaluators capture real, on the ground insights that traditional methods often miss
Practical tools and approaches that make evaluation participatory, safe, and youth friendly
Impact stories from programs shaped directly by youth feedback

Join us as we talk about shifting power, building youth capacity, and using evaluation to make menstrual health programs work better for the people they serve.

Stop by to connect, learn, and explore how youth-led evaluation can be part of your work.
