A new chapter for Wanzelu. 🐘❤️

After a very tough start in life, arriving at Lusaka National Park marks a truly monumental moment for Wanzelu. At the Elephant Nursery, he is receiving the dedicated care, specialist nutrition and medical support he needs to recover, while becoming part of a new elephant family that will support him on his journey towards a life back in the wild.

His journey could take 15 years, but today, Wanzelu is safe, cared for and has a future ahead of him. ❤️

Wanzelu is now the newest member of our Elephant Nursery family, joining Kasungu and Nanzhilla following the translocation of Bupe and Mataya earlier this year.

Come and visit the Wildlife Discovery Centre to learn more about their rescue stories, their journeys so far and what the future may hold for these little elephants. 🐘🌿

Today, on , we honour every ranger protecting Zambia's wildlife and wild places.

From anti-poaching patrols deep in the bush, to rescuing orphaned and injured wildlife, to working alongside communities to reduce human-wildlife conflict and inspire future conservationists, rangers are the backbone of conservation.
Their work is demanding. It is often dangerous. And it is only possible because of their unwavering commitment to protecting nature, every single day.

At Game Rangers International, we believe conservation is a shared responsibility. Whether you're protecting wildlife in the field, supporting conservation from afar, or inspiring others to care, we all have a role to play.

Because deep down, we are all rangers.
