JANICE MATWI - Female Leadership Training
Janice Matwi is an African business leader whose career sits at the intersection of growth, governance, market development and leadership. As Employer Relationships Lead for Africa and Zambia Country Manager at ACCA, she works across markets to build strategic partnerships, strengthen stakeholder ecosystems and translate organisational priorities into sustainable commercial and institutional impact.
Her experience spans financial services, fintech, telecommunications and business to business markets across Africa and the United Kingdom, giving her a distinctive perspective on what it takes to build and lead in complex, fast evolving markets.
Beyond her corporate leadership, Janice is Vice Chairperson of EFC Zambia, a microfinance institution, where she also chairs the Risk Management Committee and serves on the Human Resources Committee. Her board experience includes nearly five years as a board member of a UK based education organisation focused on expanding access to quality secondary education in Africa, as well as an ongoing role on the Advisory Board of Jacaranda Hub.
Her commitment to developing the next generation of African leaders led her to found A Seat At The Table, ASATT, a leadership and career development platform created to expand access, visibility and influence. Through candid conversations with senior leaders, mentorship, podcasts and thought leadership, ASATT is building leadership capital and creating greater access to the perspectives, networks and conversations that often shape careers behind closed doors.
An MBA graduate of Essex Business School, her work increasingly focuses on how African organisations and leaders can navigate changing markets, build trusted institutions and create sustainable value while widening opportunity.
Her contributions have earned recognition including the UNCDF Private Sector Champion Award, the Global ACCA CEO Award and inclusion among the Top 100 Career Women in Africa 2024. As a speaker, advisor and board leader, Janice continues to contribute to conversations on business growth, governance, the future of work, SME sustainability, inclusive leadership and the development of Africa’s next generation of Leaders.
