✨ Empowering Girls Through Mental Wellness ✨

On 8th May 2026, Girl Zone Empowerment Foundation successfully hosted “Play Strong, Think Strong Mental Health Support for Girls in Bauleni Community a hub activity in partnership with Global Platform Zambia, alongside supporting partners, Women in Global Health Zambia, and Mind Haven.

The community engagement created a safe and inclusive space for adolescent girls and young women to openly discuss mental health, build confidence, strengthen peer connections, and learn positive coping skills through mentorship, team-building, and play-based activities.

One of the most impactful moments was the group therapy session, where many girls and young women opened up about challenges affecting their lives at home, school, and in social settings including lack of financial support for education and basic needs, which greatly affect their mental wellbeing. It was an emotional moment but powerful session where solutions, encouragement, counseling support, and shared experiences reminded every girl that she is not alone. 💚

Together, we continue breaking the stigma around mental health and empowering the next generation with confidence, resilience, and hope.

Girl Zone Empowerment Foundation, in collaboration with Women in Global Health, is proud to host a community activity in Bauleni focused on empowering girls in sports and promoting mental well-being.

Too many girls face discrimination, pressure, abuse, and lack of support simply for participating in sports. Through this initiative, we are creating safe spaces, providing psychosocial support, building confidence, and breaking the stigma surrounding mental health.

Every girl deserves the chance to play, grow, lead, and dream without fear.

When we support girls in sports, we empower a stronger generation for Zambia.
