BEYOND THE BALLOT: THE POWER OF WOMEN’S PARTICIPATION IN BUILDING ZAMBIA’S FUTURE 🇿🇲

A stronger Zambia is built when women and men work together to strengthen democracy not just during elections, but every day.

A special appreciation to Phoster Mutti, CEO/Founder for Girl Zone Empowerment Foundation, for powerfully representing the voices of young women and the youth of Zambia. She emphasized that youth participation must go beyond election periods. Young people should be empowered to participate before, during, and after elections as active citizens through safe and inclusive platforms that provide civic education from an early age.

It was inspiring to be part of a progressive dialogue that brought together diverse perspectives from the legal profession, faith male Ally leader, community development practitioners, youth representative and the speaker of Electoral Commission of Zambia. The discussion reinforced one message: Zambia’s future depends on informed, empowered, and inclusive citizen participation.

Beyond the ballot lies the true work of nation building. 🇿🇲

One Debate. Many Voices. One Stronger Zambia. 🇿🇲

Girl Zone Empowerment Foundation successfully hosted an inclusive youth debate in partnership with Young Women in Action, bringing together community leaders, young women and men, persons with disabilities, university students, artists, social media influencers, the Electoral Commission of Zambia, partner organizations, community sports academies, dedicated judges, and participants from diverse communities.

Together, we promoted civic participation, peaceful dialogue, and democratic engagement to inspire informed voting and reduce youth voter apathy ahead of the 2026 General Elections. Every voice mattered, every perspective counted, and every participant helped shape a more informed and democratic Zambia.

The CEO/Founder of Girl Zone Empowerment Foundation, Phoster Mutti, as an implementing partner, was recognized by Young Women in Action(YWA )under the Youth Vote Project for her dedicated service in coordinating and mobilizing the Youth Debate under the Mobilizing the Youth Vote Project through different debate series hosted till the Grand Finale.

Her commitment to planning, organizing, and mobilizing participants ensured the smooth delivery of the event while enhancing youth participation in democratic dialogue and civic engagement.
