π’ Advocating for Policies That Improve the Lives of People Living with Dementia
At enABLE Foundation Zambia, we believe that every person living with dementia deserves to live with dignity, respect, and equal access to care and support. Achieving this requires more than compassionβit requires strong policies that protect the rights and well-being of people affected by dementia and those who care for them.
Advocacy is at the heart of our mission. We are committed to working with Government, policymakers, healthcare professionals, civil society organisations, and community leaders to promote policies that recognise dementia as a growing public health priority in Zambia.
Our advocacy aims to:
π Encourage the development of national policies and strategies that improve dementia care and support services.
π Promote the rights of people living with dementia, ensuring they are treated with dignity, respect, and without discrimination.
π Support caregivers by advocating for resources, training, and services that help them provide quality care while safeguarding their own well-being.
π Increase investment in dementia awareness, early diagnosis, treatment, research, and community-based care.
π Influence the integration of dementia care into existing health and social care systems so that support is accessible to all who need it.
Every voice matters. By advocating together, we can help create a Zambia where people living with dementia and their caregivers are recognised, supported, and empowered to live fulfilling lives.
Together, we can shape policies that build a more compassionate, inclusive, and dementia-friendly nation.
π Advocacy today creates a better tomorrow.
