We were honored to receive a visit from one of our esteemed Board Members Ms Terry-Anne Pickard (Left) at our offices this afternoon. It was a valuable moment of engagement, reflection, and renewed commitment to the work we continue to champion.
We also take this opportunity to acknowledge the continued advocacy efforts of our partners in advancing critical reforms, marking important progress toward strengthening justice and enhancing protection for vulnerable and disadvantaged groups.
Together, we move forward with purpose.

Global Observatory for Gender Equality and Sport CEO, Dr. Lombe Mwambwa was in Lusaka for the National Women in Sport Conference and graciously visited our offices. During her visit, she officially handed over the report from the 2025 conference, in which we actively participated, and as part of the Advisory Council, extended an official invitation to attend the upcoming 2026 GO Conference, scheduled for September in Lausanne, Switzerland.

We look forward to building on this engagement and continuing to advance gender equality in sport and beyond.

The work of the Racheal Kundananji Legacy Foundation continues to open doors for young girls through sport, mentorship and education-now celebrated internationally as Racheal Kundananji receives the 2025 Gender Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Champions Award for Africa from the International Olympic Committee.

On this International Women’s Day, the Board and Staff of the Racheal Kundananji Legacy Foundation celebrate the determination, courage, and leadership of women and girls everywhere.

Across our communities, girls are stepping forward with ambition and purpose. They are studying, training, leading, and proving every day that their potential is limitless when they are given the chance. Their progress is not only changing their own lives, it is strengthening families, communities, and the future of our nation.

At the Racheal Kundananji Legacy Foundation, our work is rooted in one belief: when a girl is supported, she rises-and when she rises, others rise with her. Through sport, mentorship, and opportunities for personal growth, we remain committed to ensuring that young girls have the space to grow in confidence, discipline, and leadership.

We are inspired by the journey of Racheal Kundananji, whose dedication and achievements show what is possible when talent meets opportunity. Her story continues to encourage young girls to believe that their dreams are within reach.

We are also inspired by the women who guide and support the work of this foundation, including our Board Chair Nicky Lewis, board member Terry Ann Pickard, and co-founder Bernadette Deka Zulu and other women who’ve walked the journey with the foundation.
Through their leadership and commitment, they continue to inspire and empower young women to believe in themselves and pursue their goals.

As we mark International Women’s Day, we reaffirm our commitment to building pathways for girls to thrive, lead, and shape the future.
