What a fun day we had last Saturday at !

We successfully launched the start of the inclusive cooperate social sports and recreational activities involving various institutions and community members.

The activities are meant to promote health, recreation, unity and networking for the development of Livingstone as a tourist city.

Among the institutions were Zambia Electricity Company, Southern Water and Sewerage Company, , and other business institutions.

We are thankful to Radisson Blu for partnering with us.

We have a new project!!

In Zambia, many babies are born prematurely or with low birth weight.

For these vulnerable infants, prolonged skin-to-skin contact with their mother directly after birth is the most effective and affordable way to increase their chances of survival.

The women of YEDS, who meet weekly for entrepreneurship activities, will sew special skin-to-skin T-shirts. These shirts make skin-to-skin contact easier both in the hospital and at home, enabling mothers to provide the best possible care despite difficult circumstances.

YEDS supports, monitors production, and oversees distribution of the T-shirts. The T-shirts are produced in Livingstone to provide women with income and skill-building opportunities.

International Women’s Day is celebrated on 8 March, commemorating women’s fight for equality and liberation along with the women’s rights.

It is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender equality.

A great day at our community centre yesterday with a lot happening 😀🙏🏼.

We had a wonderful visit by 2 of our supporters Anelle and Simona from Italy who came to see how our projects are going. The women excitedly explained how they do their village (smart) banking to them.

There was also ongoing construction of a small security office.

We are thankful for the progress we are making towards empowering our community.
