The Zambian Youth in Tourism (ZYT) was established in 2013 and registered in 2015. Its core mandate is that of coordination and promotion of youth participation in the tourism sector. ZYT realises that the youth constitute the emerging leaders of their communities. As part of implementing its mandate, ZYT intends to implement a targeted measure in order to facilitate sustainable youth development

by creating a tourism platform for the young people in Zambia. Through such a platform, ZYT hopes to facilitate employment creation and poverty alleviation through tourism. The proposed platform will allow the youth to engender a clearer understanding of different cultures across the country, the tourism product offerings across Zambia, and the opportunities available to them in this sector.
