Last Saturday, we visited Heartlands Best Farms for an exciting educational tour led by the company’s Animal Doctor and Director, Dr. Nawa Nawa. The children learned how eggs, chicken, milk and yoghurt are produced, gaining valuable insights into agriculture, food production and potential career opportunities. We are grateful to Heartlands Best Zambia and Dr. Nawa Nawa for sharing their knowledge and helping us create meaningful learning experiences beyond the mentorship sessions.

Last Saturday, we had an educative time discussing masculinity, what it means, and how toxic masculinity affects girls. The children sat in small groups to discuss the different prompts given, and later share with the bigger group. At the end of the session, we all agreed that healthy masculinity helps boys become strong without hurting others, and helps girls grow up knowing that respect and safety are things they deserve. The girls and boys worked together last Saturday when they picked litter on Nahumba Street. This is part of our program teach the children environmental awareness, as well as give back to the community.

This morning, the foundation visited the National Art Gallery and the Livingstone Office for Contemporary Art as part of an educational art tour designed to broaden our understanding of the creative world. Through engaging with artworks and creative spaces, the children were able to see what others have created, learn from different artistic approaches and experiences, and discover new possibilities for their own creative journeys.

Our girls have been embracing the creative process through hands-on art activities, from painting murals to exploring the wonderful world of pottery. At the Girls Club, we are nurturing confident, curious, expressive and capable young women. 💕

Creativity was in full bloom last Saturday as the mentees transformed simple pieces of clay into unique works of art. Watching their excitement and pride as each piece came to life was truly rewarding.

What a wonderful opportunity it was to visit Wayi Wayi Art Studio and Gallery last Saturday. The visit provided a unique opportunity for our mentees to experience art beyond the walls of our safe space. The experience helped them appreciate art as a powerful tool for storytelling and creating social change. For many, this was their first time visiting a professional art gallery. The excitement and curiosity reminded us of the importance exposure has in broadening their horizons and imagination.
